I've been taking lessons from Adam for about 3 years now - He is an amazing teacher! I took lessons before when I was younger but I quickly lost interest. I decided to get back into it later in life (I'm 35 now), but I still struggled to find the right teacher. One was too serious and the other was too relaxed and I felt like I wasn't actually making any progress. With Adam I got the best of both worlds! I was getting better at the guitar, and at the same time I was enjoying myself throughout the whole process. I'm still taking lessons with Adam and I would recommend that you do the same!

I took jazz guitar for two years from Adam. He’s a great teacher and excellent musician. As a former “cowboy chords” guitarist, I jumped from 5 to about 15 chords in a few weeks. Adam is patient and lots of fun. I still catch some of his gigs when I’m back in NYC.

Vic is a great teacher....doesn't hold back! You'll know how the lessons are going. Vic actually taught me basic banjo technique as well and I played drums in a band he mentored for a few years. It turned out to be a terrific experience and he taught me an awful lot about dynamics on drums in spite of that NOT being his instrument. He's a great teacher! And ARTIST. If you have the chance to take lessons from Vic, do it!!

Vic is a multi talented musician. He is able to translate musical skills and techniques to the students learning style and level. He has an easy going, warm yet direct manner. And when you go for a lesson he will have a different guitar every time! Vic is one of the best guitar teachers I’ve had.

Vic makes learning easy and fun. I’ve always felt intimidated to learn the guitar, but he’s very approachable and never makes me feel insecure or uncomfortable. I have learned so much, and I have even played in front of people, which is something I never thought I’d do!

As an adult, I came to him as a complete novice, and since day one Noah has been very patient and encouraging- balancing music theory with songs that interest me. He's been willing to adapt to my needs in order to accommodate my goals and expectations. A few months later, I can confidently say that I've exceeded all of my goals, and constantly advancing past what I thought I was capable of.

Thanks Noah!

I've only had my first lesson, and I'm a complete novice with the guitar (I'm an adult with some limited musical background). Noah asked me about my goals and musical interests so he could tailor the class to meet my needs. He taught me how to tune the guitar before getting into chords, finger placement, strumming technique, and reading the tabs. Throughout the class, he was incredibly patient, encouraging, and explained everything very clearly without over-complicating the topics. He gave me written "homework" to practice (which I now understand how to read!!). I'm really psyched for my next lesson and pleased that I chose Noah for my instructor.

Noah is by far the best teacher I've ever come across! Here's my story:

I was accepted into the Berklee College of Music as a Vocal Performance Major. However, my knowledge of theory, arranging, and harmony was nothing close to where it needed to be to succeed in my first semester. I ended my first semester with a 1.9 GPA. For the next semester, I was put on academic probation and was required to meet with a Berklee peer tutor once a week. This is where I met Noah. He was my peer tutor. Within our first session alone, I was immediately relieved that there was SOMEONE out that cared enough to take the time to really teach me everything that I needed to learn about theory, harmony, and arranging. He was extremely patient and kind. Where most students who were in my predicament dreaded to meet with their peer tutors weekly, I looked forward to meeting with Noah. In fact, I called the head of the tutoring department and asked if I could meet with Noah twice a week instead of once a week! Noah didn't hesitate, but instead agreed and we met twice a week! We even met for tutoring sessions when it wasn't required! He literally saved my second semester! I went from completely failing tests two getting A+ on all of my exams! At the end of that semester, I went from a 1.9 GPA to a 3.0 GPA!

Not only is Noah just amazing at everything theory, harmony, and arranging, composing, etc. and an amazing teacher that actually cares about his students, he's also an amazing musician! A multi-instrumentalist at that! I've had the pleasure of seeing him play multiple instruments in multiple styles and genres and he's by far the best musician I've ever come across. I would recommend him to anyone! Really! I'm not just saying this! If there is anyone you should be talking to or learning from in regards to all things music, Noah is the guy to go to!

THANK YOU NOAH!!!

I play and teach nylon-string guitar and steel-string acoustic guitar. I specialize in finger-style classical guitar, jazz, and folk, but I also have a background in rock, bluegrass, blues, soul, pop, Hawaiian, Celtic music and more. I always start lessons with new students by getting to know what music they love to play and listen to, and I will develop my lessons accordingly.

If you have experience with guitar, I will probably ask you to demonstrate your skill level by playing a song you know. If you are picking up guitar for the first time, the first lessons will be devoted to learning correct posture and technique, and you will begin playing your first scales, exercises, and open chords.
After a few lessons, you will begin to learn your first melodies and repertoire.

After a few weeks, our lessons will likely take several different, but parallel trajectories. You will learn to play the lead melodies to songs as well as play the rhythmic accompaniment. This will involve ...

I love that he's a professional musician and producer, so he definitely knows what he's doing. AND, he's bilingual!!! I've been taking one-on-one lessons in his studio, and some online lessons as well -which work really well, too-, in Spanish!

The Do's And Don'ts Of Buying The Best Beginner Acoustic Guitar
