About Ryan
Hey There! My name is Ryan B. I play and teach guitar, bass and drums, and piano and would love to teach you or help you improve your abilities! I have been playing all four instruments for 25 years, and I have a personal, laid-back style that helps connect with each student.

I have been with TakeLessons for over five years now, and am truly blessed to have worked with so many great students.I will teach you what YOU want to play, regardless of style or genre you like in music. I design my lessons around YOU, and what YOU want to learn!

eatles, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Regardless of your favorite band or style, I can help you accomplish your goals!

Piano is one of the most important instruments to learn, especially for children. The benefits are endless. For piano, I teach beginner through intermediate students. Piano is a popular choice because it has a very friendly layout with the keyboard. I use a proven 6 level method to take you from Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to Ode to Joy! I cover how to read sheet music and cover a wide variety of musical styles!

Do you like the deep, powerful sound of the bass guitar? Well, I cover that too! The bass is a FUN instrument that is very friendly to learn. If you ever want to join a band, the bass is essential instrument, because it goes well with the drums. I cover a wide range of styles from blues, funk, rock and jazz! Go for it!

As a kid did you set up pots and pans or pillows and hit them with spoons like I did? Well, then the drums may be for you! You can learn drums with a pair of sticks! Drums are a total BLAST to play, and if you are not one who wishes to read sheet music, then the drums are perfect for you! I cover a TON of different styles, and if you have a favorite drummer, you can learn to play like him or her relatively quickly!

Need academic help? Well I can help with that too! I tutor in most subjects, including: Math, Science, Reading, Writing Skills and ACT and SAT prep

Guitar is my main instrument, I've spent thousands of hours playing and teaching. I can show you how to do pretty much anything you want to do or learn on guitar.

About Scott
Hi! I'm Scott. I perform with a one-man band setup I created which utilizes a modified guitar and home-made foot pedals to control a drum set, while I sing on top of it all. I have a recording studio at home, and have performed with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer. I've written, performed and recorded my own album which made it to the 2nd round of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was a voting member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Grammy Committee and NARAS (National Association or the Recording Arts and Sciences.) I started piano lessons from age 5 and just kept picking up more instruments and gear as I got older and never stopped learning or enjoying it!

*** Lesson Details ***
I have been teaching Guitars, Basses, Percussion, Piano, Saxophone, Music Production, Re
cording, and Live Sound for 16 years.

I can teach you note-reading, tabs, ear training, music theory, composition, improvisation in just about any style of music.

Working with people writing songs is something I enjoy thoroughly; I can help you write and record your own songs. A computer and internet access are preferred to take full advantage of the technology for learning and producing music.

Knowledgeable in Instrument repair, set-up, and maintenance, I can help you fix it, and how to spot a good instrument.

Patient and experienced, with a broad knowledge of music in most areas, I can give you hundreds of good references from previous students I've taught over the years

*** Studio Equipment ***

Guitars, basses, percussion and drum sets, a piano, saxophones, hand drums, a 20-track digital recording studio with monitors that are equalized to the room's acoustics for accurate listening and mixing, plus an assortment of microphones, amps, mic stands, cables, and connectors.

About Devin
Hey Folks! My name is Devin! Since I was 21, I haven't worked a day in my LIFE! That's right, want to know how? Because everyday I have the privilege of teaching, recording, and performing MUSIC! Not only that, but I get paid to DO IT! That's not a job, that's a dream come true! If this sounds like something you want to do, I'm the teacher for you!

I began playing guitar at age 7. By the time I was 13 I was a bonafide prodigy! I attended the Fine Arts Center of Greenville, SC where I was awarded several acknowledgments of advancement and achievement. Upon graduating High Shcool, I attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tn to study Guitar Performance with a minor in Music Business. It was at this time I began to teach in my spare time. During my time at Belmont, I not only learned how to hone my craft, but also how to diversi
fy my talents in order to make the most out of my passion. While in Nashville I had the privilege of writing and recording with some amazing talent, I toured and performed, as well as ,taught. After graduating with a B.M. in Guitar, I relocated to Greenville, SC where I began working at a local music store in the Greenville area as the Head of the Guitar Department. Currently I am in the process of opening my own business in May! The business will be a service oriented business with a very minimal inventory of strings, picks, drum sticks, etc... Unlike many businesses that offer music instruction, my job is to teach and prepare my students, not figure out how I'm going to sell the Squier guitar I just took in on commission. The services I'll be providing will include, but are not limited to, private and group lesson packages in voice, piano, guitar, bass, and drums, Rock, Classical, and Jazz Ensemble groups, Fine Arts Center Prep Courses, Music College Entrance Exam and Audition Prep Courses, I'll also have monthly Guitar Maintenance Courses, DIY pedal and amp building clinics, and that's just the beginning! The unveiling of my pièce de résistance, is one you won’t want to miss!

If a parent of a teenager needs the way to invest money and time wisely to shape their child's future Guitar Lessons with Daniel is the ultimate best decision!

My teenager son has been spending more time playing the guitar than on his cell phone/iPad and has developed a healthier lifestyle working on his skills.
We have found Daniel amongst hundreds of other teachers online but deciding on him was primarily caused by his patience, professionalism, the sense of humor and just the amount of fun my son is having.
You will get every cent invested in his lessons thousand times back in satisfaction of having your child enjoying their new hobby.

Some press:

Phil's compositions showcase a variety of ideas and are quite effective at setting up the soloists to explore the various permutations suggested by his tunes. His compositional originality is matched by his incisive playing which ranges from "inside" lyricism to hard edged, riff based, screaming rock and satisfying surreal textures aided by his intelligent use of electronics."

Although I'm not technically a student of Phil's, I learn a lot from him every time I play and teach with him. We perform regularly at Berklee, where I'm a professor, and we give concerts and masterclasses all over the Northeast together (most recent was at Cornell). Phil's a warmhearted, patient, brilliant teacher and an outstanding and creative musician, seamlessly putting together everything he knows--jazz, shredding, classical--there's no boundaries for him! He's great at explaining things, and he never belittles a question, no matter how dumb you might have thought it was. Phil's a great friend and a great teacher. -John Funkhouser, Berklee College of Music, Boston

In addition to being the most talented guitarist and musician I have ever had the opportunity to play with, Phil is an astoundingly good teacher. I've played guitar for 8 years and taken private lessons the entire time. Phil has been my teacher for the past 2 years and in that time I have progressed as a musician more than I could have ever imagined. Phil has been the biggest factor in my decision to major in music, due to his unrivaled musical talent, his kind, unassuming, (and funny) demeanor and his seemingly limitless knowledge of the fretboard. He is well versed in so many genres of music, and has such an effortless grasp on improvisation. Any guitarist, from immediate beginners to seasoned professionals, can learn so much from Phil. Students can have their lessons catered to the music and styles they wish to pursue. Lessons are tailored to each individual student so that we can build upon their strengths and focus on lessons to improve weaker areas. Students will learn how to build dexterity, use proper technique, and be creative. Every student has different goals, some really want to learn theory and read music. Others may simply want to learn to strum a few chords. Whatever the goal, I can provide the instructions to help the student succeed!

I started playing guitar when I was only 13 years old, I'm now 28. When I was 13, I took for granted the importance of a teacher and I learned things based on short-term, little wins (learning that new Green Day song for a show). I never actually took the time to learn how to truly play the guitar and understand the WHY or to hone fundamental skills, spot bad posture and technique, or explain how songs are melodies are created. When I was 23, I picked up the guitar again (after putting it all throughout college and late high school), and completely relearned how to play as a mature adult. I took the hard time to relearn techniques, understand theory, break free from bad habits and I've become a much, much better guitarist as a result. I understand what it's like to WANT to sound like the John Mayers of the world and what it's like to lack patience. But there are ways around this and it's all about how you teach. About Patrick
I'll never forget the first time I received my very own guitar. It was a red Fender Squier stratocaster and I was just 13 years old. I remember plugging into my little amp and trying it out. I knew nothing about guitar, all I knew was I wanted to sound like Jimi Hendrix.

I think it was probably day 3 when I had a breakdown and ran downstairs to my mother sobbing because I didn't think I'd ever be able to play guitar and that I made a mistake.

But there's a lesson here, potential student. Guitar is HARD. Learning how to play a guitar takes a lot of patience, time, repetition and most importantly, the right attitude. 15 years later and here I am, teaching others how to play. I've been through the learning process and I know how frustrating music can be. But it's also incredibly fun and there aren't enough instructors out there that
make it that way.

If you want to play anything from screaming, roaring blues licks to melodic Pink Floyd tonal adventures I can help get you there the right way. If you just want to learn how to play a couple chords, not a problem.

Every young kid picks up the guitar because they want to sound like SOMEONE. But there's a path to getting there and there aren't enough guitar teachers that know how to communicate that and make it fun for their subjects. The most important parts of understanding guitar fundamentals are completely top of mind for me and I believe one of my biggest strengths as an individual is turning complex concepts into bite-sized, relatable things.

I'm an entrepreneur that has started my own business and this is what I do because I'm passionate about music.
