Mike taught Leo in person before the pandemic started and has been doing online lessons with him for the past eight months. He is amazing with both. Leo has a very short attention span, but a deep love for music. Mike has been able to hold Leo’s attention every week for over a year — even during online lessons. Leo has become an awesome little pianist, and has developed a love for the piano. It has given him the ability to express all of his feelings and has helped his attention span for his schoolwork. Mike has so much patience, and always inquires about Leo’s favorite activities. He is great with kids and makes them feel so comfortable. Leo loves his “booming voice” and the free play blues music they get to play together every lesson.

I'd never had any experience aside from singing in my car. Rob helped me learn many different exercises and helped me identify and unlearn bad habits I had picked up. He helped me learn to sing a lot of different songs that I enjoyed and is quick to map out the vocal notes on the piano to help me more easily understand and hit the notes I need to. Definitely recommend him as an instructor!

I have years of performance experience as a professional flutist. As a teacher I encourage my students to perform at every opportunity they get. I have helped students prepare for solo recitals, band and orchestra concerts, and even my own studio recitals that I hold each year. Performing can even take the form of playing Christmas carols for friends, solo repertoire for a family gathering, or joining your church worship band. Let me help you achieve your performance goals and love playing the flute!

About Faith

I have performed throughout Europe and North America as an orchestral and solo musician, and my favorite part of touring is meeting people from different places and trying new foods! I currently hold a long-term piccolo/3rd flute substitute position with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orches

Faith is fantastic! Just in a few lessons, I've improved my tone and worked on my weak vibrato and she even did research on helping me decide on a new flute. She is super professional, fun, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her!!

I like how Ms. Wasson takes the time to thoroughly explain each piece that we learn such as the history of the composer and the music theory involved in each piece. She is also a very patient teacher who answers all of my questions and helps me work through any parts of the lesson that I find difficult.

"Hallie's dedication and passion is second to none. I had the honor to see her at Sewanee conducting a symphony performing a piece that she composed. In order to put that production together, she had to conceive of the piece, write the parts for each performer, and teach all the musicians how it should sound through rehearsal. It was amazing. That same weekend, she was the soloist performer for a flute concerto and you could see that she really knows her stuff! Her ability to communicate her vast musical knowledge is what makes her a fabulous teacher. I highly recommend Hallie for your music lessons."

"My son, who is 10 and has been playing guitar for two years, has been taking Nick’s band class for the last 9 months and we are very happy with it. Nick is not only a great musician, but as a father himself knows well how to teach kids and make them engage in whatever they are playing.

He has taught my son not only how to play with well with other musicians, but also how to find his “voice” within a band both in the rhythmic and solo sections of the songs.

He was accommodating when we had to reschedule a class due to personal reasons, and is always willing to make the class a little bit longer if necessary to finish what they were practicing.

When the Covid-19 pandemic forced us to have the lessons remotely, he started to use ZOOM and, while things remotely cannot be the same, he did a great job at making sure that they stayed as close to true form as possible."

"I hired Danny to help me in the studio. I was recording about 3 songs I needed help with. On these original songs, I had been working on with another coach unnamed that had me do scales and but after hours of recording, the coach didn't know what else to say except breathe deep. With Danny in about 15-20 min, we were able to knock out my songs easily. Danny isn't your average instructor. He actually goes beyond scales. Some of my issues in were singing close to my break and certain phrases were hard to work with. Others were as basic as the way I was standing. I am impressed."

"I have taken lessons from Dr. Serna for bass viol for three years. First in my home, then on-line due to Corona virus restrictions. I appreciate Dr. Serna's extensive education, which presents during our lesson in a variety of ways. First, in his knowledge of repertoire for the instrument. He is undaunted by any piece in inquire about. Second, he discusses music theory when teaching a piece of music, which strengthens my understanding. Third, he has played multiple instruments, including classical guitar. As I also played classical guitar, this has provided some creative and enjoyable synergy. He also pulls from his double bass technique to assist with teaching the bass viol. Fourth, he is keenly observant and notices subtle position faults, etc., even over Zoom calls! Amazing! Finally, he is patient and takes the long view in teaching the student. He is able to notice what is good/improving even when I am struggling with something. His lessons are light-hearted and positive."
