The viola has such a wonderful sound, and sings its own voice. Play orchestra music, in a trio or quartet, or just for your own pleasure. Melodies that were written for other instruments can sound really great on a viola. Bluegrass and Celtic music also is fun on a viola.
About Donna
I love teaching and sharing my love for music. I have taught violin/fiddle to students as young as 3, and as old as 92, and had fun with all of my students, and love seeing the enthusiasm grow in absolute beginners, adults as well as children, and encouraging them to find their own joy in music. I

Book NowI will meet you wherever you are, and together we will develop a personalized plan to meet your goals. I will combine - all in an easy-to understand format - music theory, phonetic training, foreign language studies, classical training, voice theory, ear training, vocal training for multiple styles, vocal/auditory health, and music analysis to create the best plan to make you into the musician you want to be!
Singing is a very technical thing. The human voice is an instrument like any other that you can understand and use in a technical manner. But also your voice is a direct extension of your spirit, your identity, your history, and your passions that others can directly perceive! To truly live in your voice, to be proud of your voice, is to be proud of yourself, fundamentally. I will use my clinical knowledge and my personal knowledge as a singer to teach you to use your voice technically without robbing singing of its soul.
About Saturday

My main goal is to unlock your creativity! As an active musician, producer, and teacher I love to help others learn how to read, write, and play the music they love and envision. My teaching philosophy is that every aspect of music is connected and therefore to really get it, you have to learn it all! I take a wide ground up approach inching away at rhythm, melody, theory, technique, and feel altogether, advancing all musical skills equally over time. Can't wait to meet you!
About Joshua
I am a Nashville-based musician and record producer, originally from just north of Chicago in Gurnee, IL. I began my musical journey at the early age of three. My parents recount me banging on pots and pans before I could speak, so they placed me in piano lessons at three years old and drum lessons

Why TakeLessons?
Hear From TakeLessons Students
Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

I am a beginner and I've never had singing lessons before. There are many teachers in NYC, and I am glad I chose Rachel. Why? Because I think the most important is to find someone who really cares about your goals, and helps you improve your voice while being respectful of your 'artistic identity'. Rachel does all of this very naturally, in a relaxed yet very professional way. She will give you technical tips and exercises to better understand, improve and eventually enjoy your voice. And it works! I've learned a lot and I've made progress in a short period of time, thanks to her! So, if you are looking for an excellent vocal teacher who is also a great artistic coach, stop searching and start taking lessons with Rachel."

Greg was very patient throughout the lessons, and would tailor the sessions towards my interests. A common thing we would do is go over some theory and then learn a song to learn how those concepts are applied in a real musical piece.
After my sessions with Greg, I feel like I have a solid foundation in guitar and I have the confidence to go out and learn any song or concept.
I would highly recommend! Thanks Greg!"

I tried to learn banjo on my own. Bought books, instruction CDs, videos on You Tube. It just wasn't happening for me - I was about ready to give it up. Met Mike at a Bluegrass event and after just a few lessons I was really moving forward! After a few months he had me going to Bluegrass Jam Sessions. Wow is that fun!
Mike is very patient and non-judgmental. He easily accomodates my work schedule. While he is a fine banjo player himself - our lessons are always about me and how to improve my playing. I always look forward to our next lesson."
