The Recital was fabulous- thanks for all your work.
Goals: Since I am also a Life Coach, we really focus on how to accomplish our hopes and desires. We begin by weekly, then monthly and even a yearly goal.
Each week we also focus on something in my STUDENT PAL - mnemonic. Another is TECHNIQUE. Technique is the ability to have proper position, wrist-lifts and finger curve as well as Theoretic knowledge and application.
I started giving out lickable gold stars, you know, the old-fashioned kind? They are for those students who mark their lesson sheet and come prepared... They really seem to enjoy that, and I adore the nostalgia!
It is a great week when students are nearly all prepared and ready for their lessons. This makes both Coach and student more effective and the time together more enjoyable.
Perhaps you are reading
this with both a little excitement and a little concern. Finding the right person for your or your student can be intimidating. A short introduction follows so that you know a little about me and my philosophy which can assist you make an informed decision. If we are a good fit, lessons and learning progress more joyfully.
I have been teaching music, performing music and enjoying music since I was a tiny three-year old. My first piano lessons were at age seven. I have since taught the students of former students! How fun is that?
Music has blessed my life in countless ways and given me opportunities I'd never dreamed of. Teaching at the Young Artists Conservatory of Music; Singing in Carnegie Hall, Performing across Europe and teaching the best students for over 25 years has been a delight.
I believe strongly that those who spend their time and resources for musical education are some of the brightest and most intelligent people around. Each of my students have their own individual goals and reasons for taking music lessons, which we revisit monthly. I believe that my role is to be a support and tool for them/you to accomplish the goals set, working with music that delights and educates.
You want the best teacher, who offers information, example, practice and performance opportunities and then gets out of the way of the student's own "voice" (whether playing or singing) so that they can be free to create their own style.
*** Lesson Details *** In our lessons, we work with a predictable schedule of balance. We have weekly exercises to make strong fingers and or voices, and technique and theory practice to hone skills that will improve our performances, whether they are for others or for our own benefit. Each student of piano can learn how to create and write their own music in time, choose their own pieces to work on, and have a say in their classical and performance goals.
We have a program of advancement, so you and your loved ones can visually see your progress and measure your skills, complete with awards and trophies.
What you learn, has everything to do with your commitment. Practice doesn't make perfect, Practice makes permanent. Only perfect practice makes perfect.
Learning the piano ought to be a JOY. I believe in playing the piano, not 'practicing' it. Enjoy what you do, and you'll do it longer and with celebration instead of duty.
*** Studio Equipment *** Piano - upright; CD player; Music stands; Dozens of music books and lesson materials; flash cards; computer and music writing program; mic and mirror, syllabus.
*** Travel Equipment *** No travel.
*** Specialties *** Over the years I have dabbled in most methods, but finally come to use my own syllabus and musicianship. I can easily adapt to your favourite if that is your desire. I specialize in a total music education, not merely in learning notes. It is like looking in a mirror and only seeing eyes and skin. Music has many facets and we discover all of them.
*** Travel Equipment *** I expect the student to buy the books that I need them to buy and to have either a keyboard or piano. I also expect that the Spanish students will obtain the proper materials that I ask of them.
I read best reviews. Can phone number of the Teacher be placed here so that I could enroll.

Ms. Janai was the best tutor I have ever had. No matter the day, or time she was always there to help me out. Either it was math, science, writing, etc. she'd help me with every subject no matter how long it took for me to get it right, every subject was like her first nature. She was amazing teaching in person and just as good online. I've never met another tutor like Janai, she understands what you're going wrong and what your difficulties are, but she always manages to turn those difficulties around and make you better at understanding what you need to do better in order to succeed. If you're looking for an outstanding tutor Janai is the way to go!

Hello! Thanks for visiting my Takelessons profile. Let me start off by telling you a bit about myself: I have been performing for over 25 years as a musician, acting since I was a small boy, and working consistently with public speaking, accent reduction and other presentational skills throughout my career. I started my musical education as a woodwind player and settled in to the wonderful world of singing over time. Music has opened me up to so many incredible opportunities from touring the world to performing in marvelous concert halls and working with some of today's most respected artists, as well as giving me the opportunity to expand my performance skills through acting in various plays, musicals, television, and film.
Performing has absolutely b
een my salvation! Throughout my life it has been a best friend and constant source of joy, and I share this gift with others so that it might help them to find the same joy. After more than 10 years of teaching, I have so many new experiences to draw from and share with my students. I spent nearly 10 years performing with Disney in California and abroad in their Tokyo Disney cast, and I must say that those experiences, vast and varied as they are, have given the word "performance" a depth that I couldn't have imagined. Those experiences have made me excited to dive into every lesson with fresh ideas that will mesh well with many tried and tested teaching techniques.
Originally from Los Angeles, I now reside in Orange County and I'm proud to have expanded my studio to serving clients all over the world with online lessons via Skype and FaceTime! I get such joy from sharing my experiences with a diverse group of people from so many walks of life. If you're interested in learning more about my lesson style, feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to talk with you about a plan to help you reach your goals!
For Students of Voice: Teaching Style
Over the past several years I have focused much of my personal growth on developing my ears' ability to pick out and pinpoint vocal “placement”, resonance, subtleties of timbre, changes in pitch, breath support, air speed and flow, pronunciation and diction, and in general, the way in which all of these work together to create style. From these assessments, I work with the student’s particular needs to address each area individually and based on the learning style of each person. To illustrate to the student their method as I see and hear it, as well as ways in which they might make changes to facilitate the ease of singing --be they changes of tessitura (range), length of phrase, tone color, the release of unnecessary tension etc.-- I make use of vocalise (vocal exercises), simile and metaphor, examples from recorded performances, demonstration, self assessment, and techniques to “trick” the voice into acting in a different way, in addition to videos, diagrams, and texts on anatomy and physiology. I feel that all of these tools provide a unique and personalized learning experience for each student.

I hired Bruno to help me comprehend my book for class. He showed up and genuinely cared that I was getting it. He showed me a note taking idea that to me seemed that if I just wrote a couple of ideas down I’d go back and know where I was as far as going back and studying. He asked if I needed to write this point down and basically showed how to do the job. Great work.

Mr. Barbosa is a very outgoing person who always checks in on his students before we begin the lesson. At the
beginning of the lesson, we start with warm-ups so our voice is
ready to sing high or low notes. When you first start with Mr. Bar-
bosa, he will have you sing multiple songs and scales so he can
learn your vocal range. Mr. Barbosa makes sure that you understand
the content and if you don't, he is helpful and explains it in a way we
can comprehend. Lessons are a great way to improve your singing.
I’m becoming more comfortable performing in front of my peers.
Hi! My name is David and I have been teaching languages for over 2 years now. I have been passionate about languages from an early age but now I also have found love teaching them. I was born and raised in Venezuela, so Spanish is my native language. However, I speak English very well in case you need it. I also have a TEFL certification that taught me and gave me a more professional perspective to bring to my classes. I have lived in 4 different countries in South America which has exposed me to a more broad knowledge of my own language.
I truly believe in the online education system. It helps us connect from the comfort of our homes. I'm very flexible and I adjust to each student's pace in order to achieve their goals. I'm open to hearing feedback and constantly checking on where I can improve. I will be happy to help you and join y
ou on this adventure. I know how hard it is and I have the skills and experience to show you how to succeed and not give up.
David is an amazing teacher. Very personalized lessons, great conversation and a lot of feedback to help me improve my Spanish skills. He has helped me improve my confidence and speak with more fluidity. I live in Chile and the improvement in my Spanish has been vital to doing my best here!

classes with her. She brings the right balance correcting what is needed but with encouragement and positiveness to keep you confident and engaged."
"Valentina is patient and encouraging. She takes time to understand what your goals are, so she can help you achieve them."
"Mr. Hills was a very memorable teacher. He was always friendly and easy to have as a teacher, since he was never averse to taking the lesson in a new dire
ction if he found that the class was interested in a specific part. Of course, he also kept us on track and made sure we learned the necessary curriculum as well. His tests and quizzes were frequent, and varied in difficulty so that you were never stressed about one but made sure to review the material for it. He did a great job teaching an AP Latin course in a school where Latin isn't always treated very seriously, and improved the student culture around it as well by founding the Latin Club. Mr. Hills was a great teacher, and I'm sorry he had to leave Summit High so soon."
"I love your ASL classes! You are very sweet and very patient with us. Especially with my lightning situation."
"Chau is an amazing language teacher! He pushes you to do your best each and every class. His lessons plans are very effective and consistent. I think almo
st anyone would greatly improve their Vietnamese language skills if they're under Chau's tutelage. Highly recommend!"
