Want to learn digital photography? I have graduated from Otis College of Art and Design as a digital graphics/motion graphics while learning videography & Photography. But my passion for photography sat at heart and have been a professional photographer for the last 11 years. I now own a 1600 sq ft photo studio in Fullerton, CA. I teach studio lighting photography as well as outdoor natural/controlled lighting. Beginners will learn how to use and set up your DSLR to intermediate classes will learn about understanding lighting to setting up controlled lighting and experts will be learning about special effects and working with models and more. Let's talk photography together!

First thing I do before first day of class is send out an enthusiastic email and call shortly after. Briefly discussing and establishing the learning goals for the course based on the visual literacy,technical,and intellectual competencies the students should achieve by the end of a period is ideal for me to design the course or update an existing course for the student's desired outcomes. The syllabus and the schedule are completed along with a comprehensive strategy for what will take place during class.

Photography with professional equipment and software can be very intimidating. I have experience teaching and training in photography and other digital media tools and will help you to get a grasp on all of the ins and outs of photography, getting the results you seek out of your photographs, and photo editing with professional software. I am excited to meet you and get started!

Instructor Chuck Place draws on 35 years as a magazine photographer for National Geographic, Time, Smithsonian and Islands Magazines, as well as 15 years teaching college-level photography and 7 years teaching photography workshops for Panasonic. Chuck is a popular instructor based in Santa Barbara, California, with a great passion for sharing the joys of photography with his students, whether they are a beginner or at an intermediate level.

Want to know how the pros get those spectacular shots you see online, on TV and in magazines? It's not as complicated as you might think once you understand the fundamentals of photography. I have over 30 years of photographic experience and I am super excited to share my knowledge with you! It's going to take some time and effort and lots of practice but the reward will be super satisfying. There is a whole new world out there just waiting on you!

I know how complex the world of photography can be but I will seek to leave my ego behind because I too had to learn from others and frequently in a classroom setting the instructor unfortunately can't help the individual.
