Hello! Singing in my studio is a blast! It's fun, exploratory, expressionary, and therapeautic. We work on real technique for the whole body, breathing, relaxation of mind, body, muscles and emotions. We work on music that is for lesson purposes as well as music that you as the student want to sing and work on. Whether it's songs you just love and want to sing and work on, or you have an audition or event to prepare for, or you have other musical goals for yourself, there is a place for all of that in my studio. I also ensure that my singers are able to understand the language of the music itself...the tempo, rhythm, notes, and other markings so that you can pick up any song and be able to figure out new melodies and rhythms on your own.

About Shannon

Hello! My name is Shannon and I absolutely love music! Teaching is a huge passion of mine along with performing and sharing music in service opportunities. I am the oldest of 4 children with 2 awesome parents and I come from a rich heritage of music, theatre, performing and culture. I am married to an amazing man and we have two fur-babies. I am very involved in leadership with my church and love serving the Lord and I am honored to be entrusted with this gift of music to share.

I have been teaching Voice and beginning piano for the past 14 years and I have loved every minute of it. I have worked with students in Voice ranging from 11-Adults, each with different goals, dreams and songs. With piano students, I work with ages 6-Adult, and again, each comes with their own ideas, goals, and songs to work on. I have also done small group s

inging classes for 8-10 year olds who are just a bit too young for the more intensive private vocal training, as well as for teenagers who just love performing in a group setting and supporting and being supported by each other.
I don't do recitals. We don't call them that. I host open mics and my students are all invited to participate. I always participate to be a good example to my students, be vulnerable and support them and I usually invite other professional musicians to share music as well. They appreciate the opportunity to practice their craft and they are a wonderful inspiration to the younger musicians who watch them.
I am a process/experiential/development -based teacher.
I taught Kindermusik for many years in California, then continued in Africa for 3 years and I now teach two young children's classes from my private studio...one for 3.5/4 year olds and one for 5 year olds. These are an absolute blast!
Because of the healing I have personally experienced through music and the way I have seen it heal and help others, I am working towards my Masters in Music Therapy.
Whenever I host a concert, it almost always turns into a benefit. Even when I charge an entrance fee, I still love highlighting the needs in the community or in other parts of the world that we can contribute to.
So, when you work with me, these are things that can be a part of your experience and will be if you would like. But, at the same time, if a student prefers that music lessons are just a quiet and personal thing for themselves to enjoy, process, decompress from the world with, I welcome that completely and that's the magic that happens.

Private Singing Teacher

*I teach with a heavy emphasis on vocal health. I encourage and teach complete body and mind awareness. I provide a comprehensive "lifestyle" approach to singing and performing.

*My specialties include: helping students find a unique voice in their original music, prepping for auditions, studio recording and ear training.

*Original Music: I have a piano, ukulele and guitar available for student use at my in-home studio. We can also work on editing your originals.

*Audition Prep: Especially for the working performer, we work on both voice and full body exercises to relieve anxiety and allow you to be in the moment when it's your time to shine. We aim to prevent any unnatural tension that may obstruct vocal production, flexibility and freedom.

*Studio Recording: Singing in a studio is certainly different than singing on stage and depending upon genre, it may seem like a whole other art form. Depending on the project, we prep you for your in-studio day using different ...

About Jessica

Hi! My name is Jessica and I can't wait to help you find YOUR voice because YOUR voice is unlike anyone else's . No two people sound exactly the same; isn't that a beautiful thing? I truly believe it is, so much so that I've dedicated over two decades of my life to it. After double majoring at the University of Delaware (music, communication) I continued my private voice study with coaches based in LA and NYC and soon began sharing my knowledge of the voice with my own students, all the while landing my own gigs on-stage and on-screen.

Watching my students exceed their own expectations has been just as much, if not even more rewarding than performing for myself.

I am fortunate enough to say that teaching, performing, recording, writing, producing and arranging music has taken me all over the world. Through staying true to my voice

, I continue to create a life I love and my students are an incredibly important piece of that life!

Some things you should know about me:

- From 2003-Present Day I've trained with several classical and broadway style voice coaches as well as NYC's most in-demand pop-style vocal coach. I've spent many years performing in choirs and professional a cappella groups.
- In 2007 I began teaching private lessons in my hometown and continued to do so sporadically throughout college and afterwards in NYC
- I recorded with a major record label (now Capitol Records) and performed with a classical crossover group on PBS Television
- I performed on NBC's The Sing-Off with my group The Deltones for which I was once a director, arranger and vocal coach.
- I sang with Bonnie Raitt, Stevie Nicks and Carrie Underwood, filling in for Emmylou Harris
- I've shared a stage and gone on tour with GUSTER, The Band Perry, Marc Broussard, LAUV, Shoffy, Pentatonix and more.
- My work as a songwriter, recording artist, vocalist and vocal recording engineer & producer has garnered roughly 15+ Million Streams over the past few years.
- My original music and cover songs have been heard on CBS, NBC, PBS and Disney's Freeform Television.

Question: Cool, so what does this mean about your style of teaching?

Answer: Glad you asked.

1. I am most interested in your personal, authentic style and making sure you are accessing YOUR voice in the most healthy way possible. Singing is a full body and mind activity and I like to take a comprehensive approach, teaching concepts that you can take with you into other areas of life. Many students want to "have better intonation", "sing more on key" or "sing more freely" and YES YES YES LET's definitely do that! Just not solely with ear training tricks and repetitive scales.

2. I'm best suited for students who prefer to sing modern and contemporary music or craft their own songs. I am also a great resource for recording studio-prep work.

3. As a working recording artist, I bring real-life experience into my coaching with a strong understanding of the modern music world.

While I've performed musical theater and classical music, there are more specialized coaches better equipped for those genres.

My goal in taking lessons was to get back to singing after a long hiatus of lessons and performing... to reclaim my love of singing and break through my insecurity. Jessica's warmth, humor and expertise helped me do just that. I learned new techniques and had a full on very emotional breath through right in her living room!

She made me feel safe, confident, and helped me learn about my unique voice as well as shared her expertise in proper breathing and gaining vocal control and increasing range.

In sum, Jessica is an incredible vocal coach and I'd definitely recommend her.

Jessica is an amazing teacher! She not only understands all the technicalities behind singing but she works to your strengths and helps you cultivate both your inner and outer voice! I felt very comfortable with her and even got emotional a few times as it was such a powerful experience to be able to be vulnerable and engage in something I love so much. Jessica is the perfect mix between professional and experiential where you'll learn skills but you will also have fun doing it. I highly recommend Jessica for your musical needs. I look forward to my future sessions!! It also helps she is incredibly talented! An all around win and positive experience :)!

Private Singing Teacher

I believe that anyone who can speak can learn to sing! I teach based on music theory, technique, and repertoire building. The three register method I use can be applied to any style of singing from Opera to Pop. I have an Artist Certificate in Voice, a BA in Voice Performance, and an MAT in Choral Conducting. My specialty is Vocal Pedagogy, which means that I teach students the correct way to sing to ensure a safe and healthy instrument. I have been teaching private voice for ten years, and have a proven track record of students who have gone on to be successful in achieving their goals.

About Andrea

I began singing in a local children's choir when I was ten, and haven't looked back since! I attended the Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville, SC where I studied Opera and Musical Theater Voice. I then went to the College of Charleston where I completed a BA in Voice Performance and an MAT in Choral Conducting. I love singing, and love teaching others to love singing as well! I teach music full time and am the Musical Theater Director at Porter Gaud in Charleston, SC. I teach voice using registers and correct technique so that my students can sing whatever style of music best suits their interests. I am an avid Vocal Pedagogist and I present at State and National level conferences in the field of healthy singing.

As a vocal teacher, I am able to teach my students how to sing in a mix with a relaxed larynx. This allows students to sing many styles of music properly and in a vocally healthy way. Singing through the bridges and expanding the vocal range is also emphasized. We will work on proper vowel placement as well. I teach ear training and can work with students on sight singing and interval training. I encourage my students to learn all styles of singing including classical, rock, pop, broadway and jazz. I've also worked with several singer/songwriters, helping to polish original songs and have even coached them in the studio.

About Molly

‚Äč In 2004, I graduated cum laude with a bachelor of music in Music Education. Specializing in voice and violin, I studied with Dr. Youngsuck Kim, Dr. Kenneth Sarch and Dr. Adrian Bryttan. I have also trained with the following vocal teachers after college- Melanie Galiardo , Greg Enriquez, Linda Balliro, and the amazing Seth Riggs.
As a voice teacher, I have spent decades learning and studying techniques that allow the voice to stay relaxed and connected.

Learning how to free your voice and free your body while singing will enable you to stay connected with your voice and find joy in singing. I love that every voice is unique. My goal as a teacher is to support each student in finding the power and uniqueness of their sound. Discovering the power of your voice builds confidence and gives you the tools and ability to sing your best.

This holistic approach focuses on whole body experience. As each part of our body aligns with one another, it supports and frees the voice. Understanding and releasing any tension that may be present in the body is explored in lessons.

You will learn warm-ups that will train your vocal cords to connect. You will learn to relax your larynx while singing. Most importantly, you will learn and understand the difference between chest voice, mix voice, and head voice- essential for singing flawlessly thru your bridges.

As you free your voice, you will find greater ease of singing and speaking and discover the joy of singing.

Private Singing Teacher

In my singing career, I have benefited tremendously from instruction by teachers who perform professionally. I want to help my students develop their vocal ability by meeting them where they are and applying the lessons I have learned from practical experience as well as from what I have been taught. My goal is to equip students with the skills so that they can develop a reliable technique that works under all situations.

In 2013, I began singing professionally in principal roles with major opera companies (with regular appearances at Dallas Opera) and as a soloist with orchestras across the United States. I was an Adler Fellow with San Francisco Opera from 2011-2012. I received my Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from the Academy of Vocal Arts, my M.M. in Voice Performance from Boston University and my B.M. in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College.

About Ryan

In 2011, I began singing professionally in principal roles with major opera companies and as a soloist with orchestras across the United States. I have sung on the stages of the Dallas Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Opera Colorado, San Diego Opera and Florida Grand Opera to name a few. I am one of the very few fortunate enough singers who has been able to make my living for 8 years solely on my chosen profession.

In my singing career, I have benefited tremendously from instruction by teachers who perform professionally. I have incorporated artistry, language, and dramatic intention into my preparation whenever I perform professionally. I have extensive vocal study with William Stone, Penelope Bitzas, and Elem Eley. I continue to study and improve my languages through vocal coachings and lessons. I am committed to life long learning and development of my vocal ability and sharing that with my students.

I received my Bachelors of Music in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. My Masters in Music in Voice Performance from Boston University in Boston, MA. My Artist Diploma in Opera Performance from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, PA. I was also an Adler Fellow with San Francisco Opera where I sang 59 mainstage performances in 2 fall seasons.

Private Singing Teacher

I have been teaching voice for over 15 years, both in classroom and private lesson settings. I hold a Bachelor's degree in music with an emphasis in performing arts (such as musical theater) and a Master's in early childhood and elementary education, but I believe anyone can be taught to at least carry a tune-so all ages and skill levels are welcome. I fervently believe that a solid foundation in music theory and technique goes a long way, but I also know from experience that choosing to sing the types of music you love is essential to successful learning. I have been trained in classical voice, musical theater, and church music, but my passion is leading worship in the church and singing music of an acoustic folk or country style. As a professional musician I have done all of these styles (and more) many times over the course of my career. What that means is I have the experience to help you reach your goals, whatever they may be! Whether you have always dreamed of learning or are

About Carrie

I am a professional worship leader and pianist, as well as a professional teacher. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music, specifically voice and piano, from Columbia International University and a Master of Arts in Teaching early childhood and elementary education from that same school. I have been in this industry since I was a child, working both professionally and in a volunteer capacity. I have done everything from touring with choral groups, to directing musicals, to conducting children and adult choirs, to writing and arranging music for choirs and students, to teaching individual and group lessons.

My passion is the music of the church, but I am classically trained and have taught many different styles throughout my career, from Broadway to gospel and many things in between. I endeavor with each of my students to find their p

assion and goals before we ever dig in to the mechanics of learning to play so that I can direct your lessons in the way that best suits you. If playing off of a chord chart with a band is your goal, I can make your lessons suit that purpose. If you want to work toward competitions as a classical musician, I can help there too. I can also help if all you want to do is play for your own enjoyment or raise a well rounded child who appreciates the arts! While the basics of music theory are foundational and need to be taught, the techniques and methodology can be adjusted to suit your needs, whatever they may be.

I look forward to speaking with you and getting the chance to help you fall in love with music and to work toward your goals.
