About Judith
Hello! My name is Judith, and with a background of more than 25 years of performance, teaching, and directing experience I'm sure that I can help you meet your goals - Whether it's to become an accomplished soloist, to sing more accurately in your church choir, or just to knock their socks off at karaoke, we'll have a great time getting you where you want to be!

Following is a bit more about me - it's a little "formal" ... but it will give you a few additional details about my background that you might find helpful in deciding whether or not I'm the teacher or coach for you! Happy reading!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With more than twenty-five years of performance experience, Judith is at home with a repertoire ranging from medieval song to Baroque opera and oratorio to American musical theater. Her performances have take
n her across North America and the UK, appearing as featured soloist with a number of leading period and modern ensembles and orchestras and as presenter, guest artist and faculty at a variety of international workshops and festivals.
Not only a performer, Judith is also an educator, with extensive experience in private teaching as well as in directing and coaching of both large and small vocal ensembles in a variety of styles and genres - from Early Music to barbershop to Broadway - and has served as Director of Music for a number of churches and various performing organizations.
Judith holds both Masters and Doctoral degrees in Early Music Performance Practices from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from The College of Charleston, SC, with additional post-graduate work at the University of Texas at Austin and the Indiana University Institute of Early Music where she studied performance practices, music history, opera and theater. She currently serves as Adjunct Faculty in Voice at The College of Charleston, SC, and has held positions as lecturer and adjunct faculty in music history, vocal pedagogy, graduate research methodology and applied voice at both Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio. Judith is ever-active as guest faculty and lecturer for workshops, special events, and continuing and community education forums.
Noted for being "even stronger when she is allowed to act as well as sing" (Cleveland Plain Dealer), Judith is equally active in the theater, taking leading roles not only in Musical Theater but also a variety of dramatic and comedic productions, and has received both repeated critical acclaim and regional acting awards for her performances.
Judith is also an accomplished instrumentalist, making appearances at a number of events and with a variety of early music ensembles across North America. She has been performing on Shawm, recorders and hand drums for more than twenty years.
About Marwan
I started playing piano when I was 3, and began writing music at the age of 6. I've taught music and piano for over 12 years, and tutoring other subjects for over 5 years.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I graduated from Cornell University in Electrical & Computer Engineering, with a minor in Music.
As a student, I was President of the Cornell Piano Society for 4 years. I spent much time teaching piano and music theory to fellow Cornell students, faculty, and staff. I've also organized many concerts, recitals, and events during my tenure.
After college, I went on to work for Intel & Apple as an engineer, while continuing to teach and tutor on the side. Later on, I founded my own startup company centered around Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and unmet needs in the B2C market.
I typically travel
to each student's home for lessons. I travel all around the Bay Area: as far north as Richmond, as far south as Los Gatos, as far East as Livermore (and every place in between, including the Peninsula).
