After speaking to multiple tutoring companies, we discovered Matthew. Matthew was very professional and made my son feel comfortable. They had a total of 5 tutoring sessions covering Math, English, Science and Reading. My son took the ACT after his tutoring sessions and scored a 23. We were very pleased with the progress our son made by going from an ACT score of 19 to 23 after only 5 sessions with Matthew. I would highly recommend Matthew J. Horwich to anyone needing tutoring.

Matthew explained his approach to coaching and the plan so we were able to make an educated choice on the best tutor for our son. Matthew was responsive, organized and worked very well with our son. He communicated directly with our son and cc:ed me so that I was aware of the plan and f/u. His scores did improve on the SAT and we were pleased with the investment.

Matt has been awesome for my student. His math skills have improved greatly, and his writing has come from illegible to what can now be described as neat and readable. Matt has been very patient and deliberate with our son and has taken the time to really explain things to Jake in a way he can understand. We would recommend this tutor to any parent looking for a tutor for their grammar school student! Matt is also reliable and prompt and showed up when expected which was helpful with our very busy schedules.
I love working with English students to achieve their professional and personal goals. I come from a state widely considered to foster a 'neutral' American accent, and have served as a coach on a collegiate Speech and Debate team. I have worked with executives, students, musicians, and actors from all parts of the globe to learn and perfect their English skills.
Whether your goals are to learn the basics before a vacation or to ace your next test, I can help! With degrees in French, Spanish and Communication, I am experienced in the language learning process and love to help student develop a winning strategy to reach their goals. I've lived and studied abroad in Spain and France, for a total of two years, allowing me to bring valuable cultural context to our lessons.
Improve your clarity in English. Lessons and exercises will increase your knowledge of English diction and pronunciation. Speaking more clearly, being comprehended by colleagues, and developing vocal projection.

Where do you want to
be in a few short months? Do you want more successful communication, to feel more confident conducting a business meeting, lecturing to students, speaking to customers, or communicating with patients, to be able to joyfully converse without worrying if your accent is detracting from your message... and to save time by speeding up your results through personal, individualized instruction with a program tailored specifically to your individual speech patterns?
Here's your path: 1) You'll begin by taking an accent assessment, so I can listen to your speech/accent and determine what sounds are different than the sounds in American English and structure an individualized program for you. 2) We then work together for 13 weeks, for one hour sessions per week. All sessions will include practice work so that you can be well on your way to achieving an accent that is closer to American English. 3) Your practice work is all online for you - you'll have an online practice portal that you keep for the rest of your life to return back to and refresh as much as you'd like.
I am passionate about accent reduction because I want my clients to be able to succeed in the paths they choose in life, uncover their most promising futures, and discover what their lives can be.

Jacqui is an excellent speech therapist and instructor. I learned so much from each lesson she gave me. I can't thank her enough for the confidence she gave me in my speech, as public speaking is critical for my new career. Not to mention, her outgoing personality made the experience fun. Thank you!

I was worried about using an online service for accent reduction but with my schedule I didn’t have another option. After working with Jacqui, I only wish I acted sooner. Jacqui was flexible with her availability and the results speak for themselves. My clients and I can now focus on the task at hand. No more “What? Could you repeat that?”!
I love to teach accent reduction! My students are amazed once they learn how Americans really speak and that they can learn to speak like that too. From the first few classes, you will find that your attention is immediately drawn to how you are pronouncing not only individual words but complete sentences, and how your ear will quickly become attuned to the reductions and links that Americans make. Our lessons will be based on the book American Accent Training, and the very first lesson will be a diagnostic test so that we can see what areas you need to focus on first. It's really fun and exciting to see how quickly your accent develops into one that people can understand better and that you feel more confident using. Let's do this!
Hello! I'm excited to have the chance to help you with your English! I'm a native speaker from Cleveland, OH in the USA and have ten years of experience teaching Accent Reduction and ESL. I've got a BA in Spanish and a Master's in Education with a Graduate Certificate in TESL. My students LOVE me a lot and I always receive high ratings. I also speak fluent Spanish and I'm learning French and Russian, so I know the challenge of mastering a foreign language.
My favorite area to teach is pronunciation and accent reduction, but I can also help you with grammar, reading, writing, idioms, phrasal verbs, vocabulary... you name it! Need help with a presentation? Want me to check your emails? I'm happy to help. In addition, I like to have fun when I teach so that you have fun as you learn. We can incorporate tongue twisters, video, poems, or wh
atever you are passionate about. IMPORTANT: I am a very light-hearted person. At the same time, I am responsible as a teacher, but if you are a person who takes life very seriously, I may not be a good fit for you.
I've also got an Associate's degree in nursing and a background in business, as I was the owner of a food business for 3 1/2 years. So I'd be happy to focus on either medical or business vocabulary if you like. Currently, I live in Mexico with my husband and our pooch, Flaco. I was away from teaching for a few years but I'm happy to be back into it and meeting new friends from all over the world. Like you!
NOTE ABOUT SCHEDULING: in order to get the most benefit in as short a time as possible, I recommend scheduling classes 2 to 3 times a week for 30 to 60 minutes.
Are you speaking English but not being understood? Accent reduction will make all your hard work and English study worth it. I have 10 years teaching experience in ESL and a BA degree in American English Speech Language Pathology. I provide coaching in all areas of American English, including vowels, consonants, syllable/word stress, sentence intonation and tips for sounding fluent. I also offer coaching for specific pronunciation errors from many different languages. Send me a message and we'll create a personalized plan together.
Teaching English is my passion and accent reduction is the best part. I meet many students that work very hard to perfect their English only to be not understood when the time comes to communicate. I love being the one to give them the tools they need to deliver that perfect sentence during a job interview or final presentation.
I've traveled widely and studied Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. I know the joys and struggles of learning a second (or third) language, and use that experience to help my students. I graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI with a BA in Speech and Language Pathology (SLP) and also a BA in Chinese Language and Culture. As a BA SLP, I am qualified to coach accent reduction. I believe there is nothing wrong with having an accent, but I also believe you should be able to turn it on or off whenever you w
ant -- fluently. Just like an actor/actress learns an accent for a film, you can learn American English for your professional life.
I have four kids, all girls. I love to write fiction and poetry in my spare time and I also volunteer twice a week to teach English. I also love gardening, but I am not terribly good at it! People who meet me say, "Wow you have your hands full!" and I love to answer, "Yes! Full of good things!"
My coaching is a combination of personal coaching sessions with Accent & Fluency training, full support, feedback and information delivered through a variety of formats including video, audio, PDF documents, emails, and instant messages. I will take you through the whole process step-by-step. My coaching is a very intensive full-on service for people that have an urgency to advance and nail the American English!
- COMPREHENSIBLE INPUT - TPR STORYTELLING - CONVERSATION CLASSES - ACCENT TRAINING - LANGUAGE ACQUISITION
Hi everyone! I’m Ty! I’m an English Coach (Accent & Fluency Coach), neurolinguist, and translator. I’ve worked as an English teacher for almost 10 years. During that period I’ve also graduated from Law School, but since English has been my passion all along, I decided not to pursue that career. I’ve already had the awesome opportunity to coach hundreds of people, in face to face and online sessions. I coach people that want to improve their English and reach fluency, and I also coach people that want to sound 100% American. I have worked with coachees ranging from age 3 to 80! I’m 100% positive that I know exactly what it takes to become a fluent and confident English speaker. I know tons of tricks and methods to an easier, f
un and brain-friendly learning journey. I love working with students to improve conversational skills, build confidence and encourage them to improve, not only their English but improve as human beings. I became an English Coach after I noticed that people were having classes for six months (or more) and still were not able to have a simple conversation. So the only option was to believe that the method people were learning from was not efficient enough. I’ve noticed that people were having English classes but were not really using the language and sometimes, not even having enough contact with it to improve.
How I work
I’ve never been a huge fan of traditional methods, which is usually what we see out there. This idea of learning a language through grammar, and thinking that you will reach fluency like that never made much sense to me. What I actually believe, is immersing yourself in a language and, before you ask me, you don’t need to live in an English speaking country to do that. I can show you exactly how to do that from the comfort of your own place. And the best thing is that, as your English Coach, I will support you through your fluency journey. We’ll have a few live sessions every week but we’re also in constant touch because I believe that this is the best way for you to become fluent and actually acquire the language.
Ty is great! He is an excellent coach! He really helped me a lot! I went from an English learner to an English Speaker... FINALLY! :)

Amazing Coach!! The only one that was able to make me sound better!!

Ty rocks!!! I’ve had taken classes before with a lot of teachers but I could never see myself becoming comfortable to speak with a native English speaker. After having classes with Ty, he showed everything in a very simple way. Now I’m able to talk to anyone without feeling concerned.
Patient, well informed, structured program. It has helped me a lot."
"Great experience with Adam! He is very thorough and great at explaining the nuances of language and pronunciation that are difficult to detect from just l
istening. My goal was to clean up my pronunciation (been living in the States for a while, but couldn't get rid of my accent). and Adam gave me great tools and things to watch out for as I am working on my American English."
"Adam was great!"
"Erol was one of my best instructors by far! He is very knowledgeable and approachable, and he wakes up at 530 every morning to teach me. This shows his de
termination to teach and his attitude to teaching well enough."
"Great analytical approach to accent reduction. I’ve taken 4 classes and I already feel a difference. Thanks!"
"Tom has been pretty good at figuring out my speech production issues and working through a correction plan to get the right sounds out. Also, has been ver
y flexible about scheduling which has been very helpful. Overall a fun teacher to work with."
"Wonderful teacher, helpful lessons, easy to follow technique."
"Although I just took the first lesson with Erol, but I liked his systematic approach and curriculum. The way he explained that accent reduction is not onl
y about training but also about understanding the new culture and creating a new personality, I just can say that I am excited:)"
