Want to learn violin? My students have unique lessons tailored to their needs and own personal goals. Basic skills and advanced techniques are taught alongside music interpretation and expression, as well as basic music history, music theory, and other tools necessary to make informed performance decisions. My lessons have ben described as "whacky and fun" by some of students. What do you want to learn? Tell me and we can discover it together!

I can help you learn the beginning concepts of music theory. As a student musician myself, I completely understand the importance of having those basic skills down. Understanding theory is a key skill in being a great musician because it teaches adjustment and tonal foundations. For example, knowing how many sharps are in the key of D Major will save you a lot of time when you have to sight-read or analyze your next piece.

Lessons:
***KEYBOARD on deck for all lessons*** I find that visual tools help with understanding the theory a little bit better.

I offer 30, 45, and 60-minute sessions. It all depends on your needs.

For lessons at my home or in the community center, parents/guardians are welcome to sit in.

Adult beginners are also welcome!

I have been playing clarinet for twelve years and have taught students of all ages and levels. In my lessons we will work on basic fundamental techniques (breathing, technique, etc) while also learning pieces that you can bring home and play for your family. I believe playing the clarinet is something that gives people the ability to increase their creativity level, confidence, and individual expression which is important to our daily lives. I want my students to be able to grow as individuals and learn to have fun with music through playing the clarinet!

As an active operatic soprano, opera is my pride and joy.
I strive to help people develop their own unique singing voice, working on breath, vowels, and vocal placement. I have sung leading roles in both opera companies and leading universities and conservatories in the Pacific Northwest and New York City alike.

Lessons will be completely individualized and I have a specific concentration in the production of a healthy classical technique and have vast experience with choosing vocal repertoire.

I am currently working with Marissa to improve my vocal range and ability. Singing is simply a hobby for me, but I am in my church choir. Marissa has been assisting me in not only technique but also showing me the relationship between my choir singing and solo pieces. She is also very kind, organized, and never speaks "above" me.

I needed help polishing up some music for an audition, and Marissa was great. Very kind, helpful, and reassuring, and because of her help I was able to have a much better audition. She really is very knowledgeable about both solo and choral singing.

"Love Olga's teaching style. While she focused on fundamentals and techniques, she made it fun and easy to understand for my 6 1/2 year old. She introduced an engaging and age-appropriate song for my little one during the first lesson and my girl couldn't stop singing it on our whole way home! Very much looking forward to more future lessons!"

"Tim;
I so enjoyed my lesson last night. When I leave your home I feel empowered by what I have learned. Playing together last night and counting the beats together was awesome even though I made several mistakes. I recognize the chord changes I need to continue to work on in the song. For me I think it is helpful to play the song through even if I make a few mistakes rather than stopping and starting over. I will continue my work on the open string chords and continue to work on our song. Your Great Tim, I really mean that. Looking forward to a week of practice and seeing you again next week!"

"I really appreciate Lucy Lu, my violin teacher. she is what one would expect for a violin teacher specially if you're like me 68 years and no experience whatsoever with the instrument. Had I stayed in Los Angeles, I see no problem in continuing taking lessons from her because I know that sooner or later, I would learn despite my busy schedule as a tax accountant. Thank you Lucy. I will miss you."
