I have been singing on stage since age 7 since way back when I would sing duets with my brother at piano recitals. Since then, I was in choirs for 17 years straight.

I love singing, and I want you to love singing too. I am here to get you to where you want to be....Everything from exposure to valuable children's repertoire to a "tune up" before you dust it off for a wedding gig.

You tell me what you want.

I have been a teacher since 2007, and have worked with more thousands of students than I can keep track of.

I am a Maryland MSDE certified teacher for Music P-12, where I have been working for 12 years.

I have recently completed a Master's Degree related to Music that will be useful in the virtual format.

I firmly believe that everyone IS a musician, and that it is a part of us.

I sing in multiple genres/styles, and I WILL help you get better at whatever you want to get better at.

Over 20 years experience teaching Musical Theatre and Classical Voice Lessons at a New England College and at home in my private studio. My students are performing on Broadway and off Broadway and Employed with Opera Companies in the U.S. Many of my students are alumni of schools such as The Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, and Carnegie Mellon. My style is clear and concise, working with anatomical instruction as well as imagery and movement to achieve an overall top notch vocal technique. I can get you to your goal!

I have had the pleasure of working with Amy in a variety of settings within the Department of Musical Theatre at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts. I have been accompanist for her vocal techniques classes, master classes and in the voice studio. In playing for her students’ juries and recitals, I have been witness to the quality of preparation and professionalism she expects of her students. I always tell Amy that her students are so easy to accompany because of their level of knowledge and preparation. Most significantly, as music director of the productions at the college, I have witnessed and more importantly, benefitted from the effect of the tremendous work that Amy does with her students in the voice studio. Her teaching techniques are highly efficient and effective. She has the technical versatility to lead her students through the various vocal techniques of musical theatre, from legit to belting. She successfully conveys a depth of understanding of vocal technique as well as helping her students better realize the vocal portrayal of their characters.

I can attest to Amy’s approach in the voice studio on a more personal level as I am now one of her private students. The variety of approaches to technique and musicality, and the means in which she communicates them is endless. She understands the balance of knowing where you are in your study of voice while pushing you over hurdles to reach the next goal. It has been nothing but a rewarding and positive experience that has given me the confidence I had been seeking. And I now personally understand why her students have such a high level of preparedness.

In the past 2 years of working with Amy, my vocal skills have grown in ways I never thought it would. Amy has not only taught me how to properly sing, but has also reintroduced me to my voice. I am so much more confident in ALL aspects of singing, especially my musical theatre repertoire. I cannot thank her enough for her kind and motivating energy every lesson!

I am very pleased to submit a recommendation on behalf of Mitchell K.. Mitchell is an excellent young singer and teacher, able and willing to put his well-developed technique at the service of music and text with style and authority at such a young age. I have found Mitchell’s clear and resonant tenor voice quality refreshingly beautiful. His musicality and technique rivals colleagues years older. His understanding of vocal pedagogy and building young voices is extraordinary. In short, I could not recommend more highly Mitchell as a voice teacher and as a very talented singer of a wide variety of styles. He is a wonderful individual, bright, articulate, highly motivated, and would be a most positive influence on every student in his voice studio.
Stephen
Mitchell was incredibly supportive and really made me more comfortable singing in front of people. He made things easy for me to get better. He helped me belt more healthily and really boosted my confidence. He listened to me and let me work on the kind of music I wanted to learn and also pushed me to sing things outside of my comfort zone.

Broadway music is a great way to improve those vocal chords and there is so much material to work with. Most students choose two favorite songs to start. Or I can definitely help you with that! Basic concepts are learned or reviewed such as breathing, vowel modification, range extension. i will compose some specific vocal exercises to help you with you goals. I will also incorporate a couple perhaps lesser known musical pieces you may not know and can choose ones that will expand your vocal talent.

I love, love, love Broadway and am close to NYC so go to many shows (Pre-Covid anyway) And then so love to teach and Broadway tunes are truly some of the best songs to coach you into being a better singer. I also have an optional group lesson, or Masterclass approximately every 6-8 weeks where you have the opportunity to perform or observe other students performing. And everyone can sing, I promise.

For 'classic' Broadway show tunes check out "The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology" published by Hal Leonard. Bring sheet music to start with from your favorite Broadway musicals and movie songs - found in music stores or on-line. Both of these styles benefit from the strong tone and great delivery of a classical singing technique.
I recommend adults take 45" - 1 hour lessons weekly for skill building.

My daughter has learned so much with Julia in the past few weeks. It's been a true pleasure to witness the progress. They have worked on sight reading, tone, physical posture, and many other aspects of singing and sound production. Julia is a very caring and supportive instructor. She is full of enthusiasm and humor, and this shows in her choice of singing materials. We look forward to having more lessons with her!

"Corinne is amazing! I have been studying voice with her weekly for about two years now, and my musical theatre callback and booking rate has multiplied so much since before I started with her. She is so friendly and accommodating to my crazy, unreliable schedule. She always manages to fit me in when I need to see her for audition prep etc. She has also helped a lot on the business end of things with helping me create/work on my Book. She is wonderful at pinpointing what needs to be worked on most individually with her clients and letting that be an area of focus, while still making sure to give a full lesson with everything you need. For me, my weakness when I started with her was my mix. Now, two years later, at the last musical theatre audition I had (which I booked) I was complimented by the musical director about how nice my mix was. I definitely credit Corinne for that! I would highly recommend Corinne to singers of any level! Whether new and wanting to learn how to carry a tune, or professional singers looking for a good vocal workout, she is your lady!"

"Annie is DONE and went well! We were all so impressed by Eliza’s confidence and grace under pressure (she handled a couple prop mishaps without missing a cue!) and can’t thank you enough for working with her on the Annie songs. She had a mic on so it was a good thing she was already really comfortable with the songs as they didn’t get to practice with the mic until the dress rehearsal right before the show. Only 3 (her, Annie and Tessie) of the 10 orphans on stage were mic-ed, so we could really hear her. The time and money we spent with you was sooooo worth it.
