James is an excellent instructor that has tremendous amount of patience with the most difficult students. He is also very skillful in academics especially English and language arts. He has the unquie ability to break the assignment or steps down for the student to learn on his/her individual level! A great pleasure to work beside him !

James worked with me in Youth Group leadership and mentoring. Completely responsible, very creative, and ready to try everything -- we used music, art, dance, theater, games, word puzzles, and anything else we could think of to develop the teaching material/learning outcomes that we were seeking. James brings a spirit of confidence and integrity to all he does. Certainly one of my favorite people to work on a project with and a true gift to a team or ensemble.

Penny B.

San Francisco, CA

Concepts for Ballet, Tap, Modern, and ethnic forms should be presented with explanations, making dance an education and not simply physical manipulation to reach a goal.
The technical side of Ballet sets the foundation. Delivering that foundation can be best accomplished with music that is relevant and expanding to the student.
Young students absorb an incredible amount with games and story enactment. It's the perfect time to teach terminology, stage direction and strong fundamental skills.

About Penny

It's important for dance education to take place in a safe environment in order to truly develop the creative skills of the student.. My hope is to increase not only a students technique, but also a love and an appreciation of the arts and their interaction.

Tap Dance · In studio
My daughter took beginning tap and ballet with Miss Penny for two years. She learned a lot of technique in both types of dance and not just how to shake her body around on the stage. That's what I really appreciate about Miss Penny, she teaches dance and respect for the girls' bodies. I was also impressed that my 8 year old got to be a part of a production and not just a recital. She got experience in working alongside older dancers and had some acting thrown in also. We can't find anyone like Miss Penny!

I took dance from Penny for many years and she is an amazing teacher! She truly cares about her students and helps them not only to learn so much but to love what they're learning. One of the things I liked most about Penny is that she cares so much about technique, she wants you to learn it and learn it right. She knows many forms of dance and can offer so much for her students!
