I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Maureen for the piano lessons you have been giving to my mom.. It was so wonderful yesterday my brother and his family came to the house and mom played "Love Me Tender", of course by Elvis Presley.
It was a tear jerking moment.
Mom has had issues with her brain from a car accident, and her piano lessons with you have been the best, best thing for her....from our entire family,

Family Music Teacher
We have enjoyed having Maureen as our familyâs music teacher. My son started taking flute lessons with Maureen in 2009 and advanced through the levels very quickly. He plays flute in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). He also plays saxophone and tried out and was selected for the Alameda County Honor Band. Maureen worked with him on jazz theory and improvisation and he plays in the jazz band at school. With Maureen, he worked through all six levels of Master Theory and is ready for the college level AP Music Theory at 14 years old. He also completed the MTAC (Music Teachersâ Association of California) Composerâs Today workbooks and used http://www.noteflight.com to write his own music and participate in composition contests. My daughter has been taking piano and violin lessons with Maureen and has been doing a great job. She is playing classical music on violin in school and in YOSAC (Youth Orchestra of Southern Alameda County). On piano she is learning to play the blues and jazz, as well as learning theory and composition. Both of my children have been able to successfully participate in the LaHonda Summer Music Camp. We have had a great experience with Maureen throughout the past 5 years and have enjoyed seeing her each week.

Last October my daugther received piano lessons as a gift for her birthday. We started taking lessons with Maureen in November, my daugther, who had just turned 6 was very excited to start classes. Maureen had been very patient with her and caters to her ability and age. Sometimes my daugther gets discouraged, because she feels like she isn't progresing as fast as she would like, but after class she is always excited and ready to come home and continue practicing. Overall, I am pleased with our experience thus far. Maureen is very accommodating and is equipping my daugther with the skills she needs to be a successful piano player.
Educated as a band teacher, I am capable o assisting students in perfecting their skills on any of the saxophones .
I have a BS in music education received at Lehman College, Bronx, NY. I am a professional musician/ composer/ arranger.I received my teaching credentials at SFSU and have been a General music teacher as well as a, band teacher. I have studied trumpet with Classical ( Wilmer Wise)and Jazz musician (Bill Hardman) and big band arranging with Frank Foster( saxophonist and arranger with Count Basie Band). At present I am retired and teaching privately.
I have been teaching music for over 50 years as well as being a professional musician/ composer and arranger. I not only know my fundamentals ins
ide and out, but also I know many tricks of the trade. Over the years I have developed special teaching techniques that enable students to make sense out of music and progress rapidly on their instruments.I love playing music and aim at stirring that same kind of excitement abut music in my students.
To each lesson I bring a unique mix, encouraging the student to pursue excellence and also have fun. I am well qualified to teach: woodwinds( oboe, flute, clarinet, all saxophones) brass(french horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba), and piano.
*** Lesson Details *** I make music interesting to learn. I encourage students to practice daily so they can improve. The more they improve the more fun they can have with music not only alone, but with others.
I am very patient with my students especially with beginners. I know that for them it is like learning a new language. Once they begin to increase their musical vocabulary, they will enjoy what they can do with music.
*** Studio Equipment *** Seating for parents, basement studio, piano, drum set
*** Travel Equipment *** Students should provide their own instruments.

It's been more than a year of weekly lessons with Mack, and I could not be happier.
Mack is smart, quick, and knows how to handle kids to get results. There's no wheedling, bargaining or begging. It's just ok, do this, no, stop, do it again., No stop do it again, no stop do it again, and then good, that sounds good. I guess I should not be surprised, really, but my 13 yr old son cites this as what he likes best about Mack's instruction - it's all business.
Would I recommend Mack as a teacher for kid's music lessons? Yes, without reservation. Mack is an excellent teacher.

It has been fun. Hopefully I'm learning something and getting better.

Took a few minutes but quickly started playing the scale. I have never played a horn or woodwind instrument and was quite surprised at how quickly Joe got me playing. Very personal and easy to work with. NO worries here.

Joseph is a highly dedicated and responsible teacher, who is pretty good at motivating children. Augustine loves Joseph's lessons and looks forward to it every week.
I teach beginning and intermediate and advancing Saxophone students. I specialize in classical studies playing with the San Francisco Wind Ensemble. I have references and would be happy to share them with you!
I'd love to have a few more students to build my studio in the Bay Area! I currently play Alto Saxophone with the San Francisco Wind Ensemble. I sing and conduct choir at church, and play clarinet with ensembles from time to time. I have my Bachelors in Music Education and I've taught at both the middle school and high school levels. I currently have saxophone, flute, and clarinet students and am looking for more!
I studied Saxophone at BYU with Dr. Ray Smith, who is a pupil of Eugene Rousseau, arguably the best classical saxophonist of our time. And I played in countless large and small en
sembles there. I know I can be a great music teacher for you, focusing on the basics and making sure proper technique and musicality is always addressed. I strive to help each individual student with their needs. I will challenge you, but we ll be sure to move at your own pace. I feel my years of experience playing and teaching build a great foundation for me to be your best private music teacher. We'll focus on appropriate repertoire, technique, and work toward yearly recitals.
Why should I choose you as my saxophone teacher in San Mateo?
I have nearly 2 decades of experience playing saxophone. I graduated from BYU with my bachelors in music education and saxophone. I had my teaching credentials in UT as well. I have taught at both middle school and high school levels. I play at the professional level with the San Francisco Wind Ensemble.
Do you have references?
I can give you references when you contact me. I also had my teaching credentials in UT so I went through all of the clearance for that as well.

"Incredibly amiable, professional, and talented as a teacher.
As a senior in high school now graduating and transferring into college, I started my less
ons with Dimitry in December last year and had to end this summer at the end of the music school's program. Even though my time learning the saxophone was short, Dimitry used my past musical experience to help guide me through the instrument. His lessons did not feel long in any sense of the word, and in fact some two-hour lessons I took to make up missed weeks blew by, as I was constantly engaged by his teachings. During my studies with him I found myself in the presence of a true musician, and this was only further driven home when I saw him play in the Hanover Wind Symphony at the Morristown Community Theater with Stanley Drucker. I would highly recommend Dimitry as an instructor for a student at any level."

"Skilled in both jazz and classical saxophone, Ian has been a great source of information and encouragement for the whole eight years I've been playing sax
. He is very aware of the differences between members of the saxophone family and has helped me feel comfortable switching between alto and tenor. His ability to analyze and critique what I used to consider minor details in my tone/embouchure/etc. has made a significant impact on how I practice. I've even been able to pick up some quick basics on clarinet while my horns were in the repair shop.
Ian also performs quite a bit around town. I don't often get a chance to see him play (outside of lessons. of course), but whenever I do, I have a great time seeing him apply the same skills that he teaches me."

"I am a beginning Tenor Sax student and a senior citizen. I have played other instruments years ago, but never a woodwind instrument. Ian has been a mar
velous instructor for me. Although I had never picked up a sax until December 2014, he already has taught me how to play several simple tunes and a number of scales. His patience and sensitivity to the appropriate pace is impecable. He also keeps me informed of other activities - concerts, recordings, community events to reinforce my interest. I would recommend Ian as a music teacher to anyone without reservation or hesitation."
