I love people of all ages. And I love helping them discover what beautiful things they can create in the world of music! Music is such a powerful way to express ourselves, and I love helping others learn how to do this and really enjoy it. I have played piano since I was three. When I was able to read at age four, I began lessons, and the rest is history. I graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with a degree in Piano Performance and completed a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the University of Redlands. I love to perform, have written several songs, produced three CD's all with original music that I perform, and have just completed a fourth CD featuring major classical piano works arranged with favorite hymns. I have also written a musical and am in the

I have been a music teacher and private lesson instructor for the past 17 years. I have a bachelor of science degree in Music Education and hold a teaching certificate for all-level Music Education. In my private studio I have taught students from 3-70 and have enjoyed them all! In addition to teaching music I also serve as the Music Minister for my church. Students coming to me can expect a tremendous amount of experience as well as a committed, honest and caring teacher. *** Lesson Details *** For beginning piano students I like to use the Alfred series, supplemented, of course, with songs/styles of music that interest the student. Unlike most teachers, I teach piano chords FIRST. They are simple to teach and learn if done properly. In the songs you listen to, there are chords being played whenever you hear singing. You'll start by learning a Beatles song on your first lesson. But there's more. I have developed the first comprehensive tablature for piano. You can choose the old way or my new way, once you've seen me compare the two.
My name is Mike E. I am a resident of Lake Highlands. I played by ear for eleven years before starting training on music and how to teach by Mr. Terrill Gardner. Terrill took me through music from the Rolling Stones all the way through "Modern Method for Guitar" books I, II, and III from Berklee College in Boston. He was my mentor and taught me a method that he spent thirty years perfecting. It works, guaranteed. He also taught me on bass guitar and banjo. I can help you. Lessons are customized to meet the needs of the individual, with the primary focus on playing songs as soon as possible. I am talking about playing along with the pros, not reading notes for months and playing "Mary Had a Little Lamb." I have combined my "by ear" knowledge with Terrill's training to provide a unique ...
At the present time, I am just teaching Beginning Piano. I have been playing piano for over 20 years, but have recently put it on hold to concentrate on mastering my violin skills. I have taught one student in the past for a short period of time. She was doing well but had to quit for financial reasons.
My playing experience includes playing in two piano recitals in San Diego, CA where there were over 50 pianos on a large stage and we played music with partners. That was a lot of fun. I have also accompanied a fashion show which was fun too. I completed four semester of piano at a Jr. College and tested out of piano in a 4-year college, but I mostly play for my enjoyment and relaxation.
I have been teaching students on a regular basis since receiving my Violin Performance Degree in 2008, but have taught several students on and off for over 20 years. I also play in a local symphony.
I've been teaching piano for 18 years and my students have gone on to study music in college, perform professionally, or just had fun learning. Hi! My name is Melissa and I can't wait to help you embark on your musical goals! After 18 years of teaching and performing, I have learned what works and what doesn't. More importantly, I understand that each student is different. What works for you or your student may not work for another, so it is important to recognize those differences and update my instruction technic based on each student's needs. I also have a long resume of performance experience that aids in my ability to prepare my students for all avenues including recitals, ensemble performances, professional auditions, and preparation for college. I personally hold two degrees in music and have studied with some of the most sought after coaches.
