I love people of all ages. And I love helping them discover what beautiful things they can create in the world of music! Music is such a powerful way to express ourselves, and I love helping others learn how to do this and really enjoy it. I have played piano since I was three. When I was able to read at age four, I began lessons, and the rest is history. I graduated from Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with a degree in Piano Performance and completed a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the University of Redlands. I love to perform, have written several songs, produced three CD's all with original music that I perform, and have just completed a fourth CD featuring major classical piano works arranged with favorite hymns. I have also written a musical and am in the
Music has always been a part of Josh's life. He started playing around with instruments at the age of three and singing at the age of seven. He instantly fell in love with music and grew a passion for it. At the age of five he attended his first musical concert, Garth Brooks. Josh loved every minute of it and he could see himself on a stage like Garth Brooks in the future. One day he heard someone playing guitar down in an alley and from that day forward he knew he wanted to play that instrument and it would become his specialty. In high school he played in the jazz band and was the lead guitarist. He also picked up the trumpet and played it in the jazz band. During his high school days music became his life and he created his own personal band. He wrote songs for his band and ...

I have been a music teacher and private lesson instructor for the past 17 years. I have a bachelor of science degree in Music Education and hold a teaching certificate for all-level Music Education. In my private studio I have taught students from 3-70 and have enjoyed them all! In addition to teaching music I also serve as the Music Minister for my church. Students coming to me can expect a tremendous amount of experience as well as a committed, honest and caring teacher. *** Lesson Details *** For beginning piano students I like to use the Alfred series, supplemented, of course, with songs/styles of music that interest the student. Guitar, clarinet, and oboe students can expect to begin with the Essential Elements series as a primer and introduction. I've had a lot of ...
At the present time, I am just teaching Beginning Piano. I have been playing piano for over 20 years, but have recently put it on hold to concentrate on mastering my violin skills. I have taught one student in the past for a short period of time. She was doing well but had to quit for financial reasons.
My playing experience includes playing in two piano recitals in San Diego, CA where there were over 50 pianos on a large stage and we played music with partners. That was a lot of fun. I have also accompanied a fashion show which was fun too. I completed four semester of piano at a Jr. College and tested out of piano in a 4-year college, but I mostly play for my enjoyment and relaxation.
I have been teaching students on a regular basis since receiving my Violin Performance Degree in 2008, but have taught several students on and off for over 20 years. I also play in a local symphony.

Hi! My name is Melissa and I can't wait to help you embark on your musical goals! After 18 years of teaching and performing, I have learned what works and what doesn't. More importantly, I understand that each student is different. What works for you or your student may not work for another, so it is important to recognize those differences and update my instruction technic based on each student's needs. I also have a long resume of performance experience that aids in my ability to prepare my students for all avenues including recitals, ensemble performances, professional auditions, and preparation for college. I personally hold two degrees in music and have studied with some of the most sought after coaches.
