Nate C. Oviedo, FL

With guitar, I cover all the basics: chords, scales, reading tab or standard notation (or both), and playing that song you wished you knew how to play.

My method book is flexible, and I generally incorporate as many known songs as possible to encourage students' desire to practice.

Once the basics are down, we can move on to advanced techniques like harmonics, tapping, alternate tunings, and more. I can also help students trying to learn advance instruments like 7 or 8 string guitars.

I have an extensive background in theory and use it to help students understand the basics of songwriting as well as the basics of improvising lead lines over chords another guitarist is playing.

About Nate

I've been teaching private lessons for over a decade now. First I taught lessons as a self-employed college student, and then my during graduate studies I worked through a music academy in Dallas. I've been playing piano for over 20 years and guitar and drums for 15. I've been in various bands, personally recorded several albums of my own compositions, and have taught students from ages 7-17 consistently. I teach part time as a high school teacher in the area and I enjoy helping young people learn, whether it's guitar, piano, drums, or even psychology *** Lesson Details *** I'm very laid back when it comes to lessons, but I do expect students to spend at least 90 minutes weekly practicing so our lessons will be productive. I generally use either Alfred or Suzuki for piano lessons, and

Eric L. Oviedo, FL

About Eric

Eric comes from a family of musicians. He began guitar lessons at age five as the Beatles were invading the American music scene. Growing up in New Jersey, Eric performed in rock bands until becoming interested in classical guitar. With New York City only a short bus ride away, he spent as much time as possible in the city, studying guitar with Russian born Classical Guitarist, Dr. Alexander Bellow, and Jazz Legend "Bucky" Pizzarelli. During this time he attended recitals of such notables as Andre Segovia, Julian Bream and John Williams. Being immersed in this musical scene inspired him to make music his life. Eric earned a degree in Classical Guitar Performance from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford, where he studied under the direction of guitar pedagogue, ...

I've had a great experience as Eric's student. He is highly knowledgeable as a guitar teacher and I have loved learning classical technique from him. And I'm kind of picky, since I already have a degree in music and am also a music teacher! He has really helped me broaden my skills as a guitarist and I can highly recommend him as a teacher for all kinds of guitar styles.

Eric is a very good teacher. I have no experience in music at all and his instruction offered a nice mix of basic music knowledge and uke specific teaching. In a short time he showed me a variety of playing techniques for the uke that gives me a lot to strive for while offering exercises and instruction for me to work on that will help me steadily improve.

Nevin Z. Orlando, FL

About Nevin

Hello I am an IB graduate from University High School and am currently in school at University of Central Florida for Health Service Administration and Musical Therapy. I have been playing music since I was nine years old and I took to it like a pro and I wish to see the same thing happen to anyone else that I teach. Ever since I was young I was very good at math and have shown that through my high school all the way to college classes. Through my experience and my work I found that I would love to impart this knowledge on to others. I am no stuck up graduate so lessons will never be like that, so do not expect the over bearing hateful tutor. I just love what I do and love what i know and I want to show you all that and hopefully make you learn to love it as well. I'm down right hilarious

Johanne N. Orlando, FL

I have been playing the guitar for over seven years. I am able to teach students chord progressions, proper hand placements, various strumming patterns and right hand techniques. I have a preference for the acoustic guitar, but I am willing to work with a student that would like to learn on the electric as well.

About Johanne

My name is Johanne N. and I'm currently completing my Bachelor's Degree at Florida State University. I will have a BME in Choral Music Education come this May. I am in the Orlando area for the next four months completing my internship at Timber Creek High School, so I have been fingerprinted and background checked by OCPS. My experience is mainly with choral ensembles as I have sung in them for over 10 years. My performance experience also consists of solo recitals, theatrical productions, and vocal competitions. I recently had the honor of winning the Marilyn Van Sickle Vocal Competition in SouthWest Florida this past year. Please message me if you would like my full resume.
