About Shayna
I'm a 27 year old voice teacher, graduating from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor's Degree in Musical Theatre Performance. I have been teaching voice for almost 4 years now and I couldn't be happier with my career! I love music, and I love being with children, so being a voice teacher is the best fit for me. I have participated in many theater companies in Rhode Island, most recently appearing as the lead female role in Rhode Island College's "Pippin". I have had ten years of vocal training with several voice teachers, so I know what it is like to be the student. Being a student for so lo
ng, I know what works and is helpful, and what doesn't work. I look forward to my lessons as a teacher, and I know you will look forward to our lessons too!

*** Lesson Details ***
I'm a patient, easy going person and I like to make my students feel comfortable. Our lesson will always be FUN! It will also be productive. We will work on areas that the student wants to improve on, and I will offer constructive criticism, all with a positive outlook. I provide recitals for my students several times a year. You will have the chance to show family and friends what you have learned from our lessons!

During lessons, I like to focus on the students strengths', and I will find songs that highlight the students best qualities in their voice. Our lessons will start with warm-ups, and after your voice is ready to go, we will learn and practice songs that I have selected for you with your interests in mind. The songs that I choose will be from my vocal books and I will provide you with copies of the sheet music, and also a CD of the songs so you can practice in between lessons. As our lessons progress, you will be able to sing with a stronger, healthier voice and overall, just sound better!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have a keyboard and I will bring that to our lessons. I will also provide the student with the music we study and a folder to keep it in.

*** Specialties ***
I have a lot of experience in musical theater singing. I love many styles of music, so I'm sure after finding out what you are interested in, I could find songs we can work on that you will love to learn and perfect!

About Danilo
Danilo is a multi-instrumentalist originally from Long Island, New York and currently based in Rhode Island. He has maintained an active and successful performing career as a member of the groups David Wax Museum, Debo Band, The Superpowers, Rubblebucket, Full Tang and Watchout Kompa.

Danilo studied classical trumpet performance at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (Peter Chapman, Steve Emery) as well as percussion and drums with other esteemed faculty members (Rakalam Bob Moses, Jamey Haddad). In addition to his conservatory
training, Danilo has studied traditional West African drumming at the Dagbe Cultural Center in Kopeyia, Ghana.

Danilo has performed at many of the premier venues and festivals throughout North America including: Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Bumbershoot, Montreal Jazz Festival, Montana Folk Festival, Globalfest, SXSW and Luminato.

Education has long been a passion for Danilo and he has been teaching private music lessons as well as instruction in the Boston public schools for years. Danilo teaches all levels and ages. His students value his patience and ability to find an inspiring path to discovery for each individual. Danilo has also shown himself to be very effective in the classroom setting. He has been a general music teacher in the Boston Public School system as well as teaching master classes and clinics at music schools and universities around the country.

In January 2014, Danilo was invited as a guest artist and educator at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul where he taught and performed for young afghan music students.

Danilo considers his success as a performer to be in a direct relationship with the success of his teaching and he aims to spread to the joy of music making and appreciation as wide as possible.

*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching style is relaxed and supportive while always aiming to increase the knowledge of the student. My strong technical background combined with a deep sense for wide-ranging musical styles allows me to find what inspires a student initially, and use their interests and strengths to lead them to new discovery and technical efficiency.

Private study covers technical aspects of the instrument, including body awareness as well as reading, theory and musical expression and improvisation.

While each individual learns at a different pace, I strive to point out the progress my students have made because I find this recognition of achievement, no matter how small, is essential in a student's continued love of studying music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
lessons in dedicated music room with all instruments and equipment; upright piano, drum set and percussion.

About Beau
*** Lesson Details ***
I studied music performance at UMass Dartmouth. I have the tools and resources to teach the students what they need to know in order to teach themselves. In lessons, I focus on what the student wants to learn, however for younger students I tend to stick with the methods books for a while.
I am a big fan of applying relevant elements of music theory to the music we're learning: it helps to understand the science behind the music. Noticing patterns and understanding common terminology will make it easier to learn pieces and play with other musicians.

*** Studio Equip
ment ***
Kimball baby grand piano.
I can teach at my house in Attleboro as well as come to you.

*** Specialties ***
Music theory and classical piano. (Classical and pop)

Beau is patient and kind, and yet persistent and focused with my 8 year old daughter. She has major anxiety issues and is often both frightened by new people and hyper sensitive to correction. Beau navigates her through her fears and shares his love of the music. She has had half a dozen lessons now, and we fully intend to continue lessons with Beau.

My daughter was thrilled with the job Beau did on the first lesson and has a renewed drive to really work at playing. I'm very impressed. Even my younger daughter listened in and said "he's amazing". Looking forward to the next Lesson.

About Stan
Hi! I am a private music instructor offering lessons both in-studio and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Berklee College of Music (Summa cum Laude) and I have over 35 years' full-time experience as an instructor.. I also have nearly four decades of experience as a professional jazz, rock, and theater musician. My experience has taken me from nightclubs to concert stages, as well as on television, radio, and recording studios. Finally, I am a published author with several titles dedicated to helping musicians becoming the best they can be.

**** MY TEACHING STYLE ****

My teac
hing style is often referred to as laid-back, gentle, informative, and very supportive. My focus is on enrichment, encouragement, and great results. I don't work with “one-size-fits-all” methods. Each lesson is customized to make the most of each student's own unique abilities, limitations, preferences, and interests. Whether students prefer, or do better, with traditional materials, playing/singing along with their favorite recordings, jamming with me, or anything in between, I am more than happy to accommodate and bring out each student’s best!

I teach real music -- students begin playing music they love almost from day-one. For example, many of my piano and guitar students pride themselves on learning to play every song on Beatles One ... playing right along with the CD! Reading, playing by ear, improvisation (jamming), singing while you play ... there are so many ways to play and avenues to explore in music.

**** MY STUDIO ****

My studio is spacious (very spacious – no cubicles here!), well-appointed, and very quiet. Unlike music stores and multi-lesson facilities, there are no other lessons on the premises, no drummer going crazy on the other side of the wall. This means students can concentrate better and learn faster. There is also plenty of room for parents and siblings who may wish to sit in on lessons.

**** STYLES / GENRES ****

I believe that students make the most progress learning music they love and I am very happy to teach every student the style of music he or she loves most.

My most requested genres are: pop, rock, country, blues, film/television, classic rock, jazz, and classical. Some students arrive knowing exactly what they want, but most are happy to explore various styles that interest them in search of the perfect fit. It is not at all uncommon for a student to spend part of their lesson polishing up a Beethoven piece or jazz standard, then finish up playing the chords to “Hotel California” along with the CD. Another student might start off their lesson learning a Taylor Swift hit, then move over to doing some blues improvisation. Variety is a wonderful thing and it is highly encouraged.

**** MY STUDENTS ****

Over the years, I have taught students from four years old to eighty-somethings. I’ve taught absolute beginners (most of my students start from square-one), hobbyists, seasoned professionals, even a Grammy nominee and a Grammy winner! Many of my young students have gone on to perform in school bands / jazz bands and/or professionally. In all cases, they acquire a skill that will last for a lifetime and provide joy, enrichment, and satisfaction.

Do you have a song or two in your heart. Contact me today and I will help you reach your musical goals no matter what they may be!

I look forward to my lesson every week and the time spent there just flies by so fast. Stan is very interesting and gives me a lot of information to help me understand music historically and in practice. He tailors his lesson to me. A great teacher! Thanks Stan!

Jerry has been our fifteen year old son's guitar teacher for about a year and a half, working out of School of Rock in Norwood, MA. He is friendly, highly-qualified, and a total professional. We have felt incredibly lucky that Finn has been able to work with Jerry week in and week out, and he looks forward to his lesson each week. It has been amazing to watch our son grow as a musician under Jerry's tutelage. Finn was already becoming a pretty good player when he started working with Jerry, but Jerry has been able to push him to new heights. He taught him rock guitar, but also was a key figure in helping Finn get ready to play in one of his high school jazz groups. Jerry has a great relationship with his students and a knack for getting the best out of them. Absolute highest recommendation.
