*** Lesson Details ***
My teaching style is relaxed and supportive while always aiming to increase the knowledge of the student. My strong technical background combined with a deep sense for wide-ranging musical styles allows me to find what inspires a student initially, and use their interests and strengths to lead them to new discovery and technical efficiency.

Private study covers technical aspects of the instrument, including body awareness as well as reading, theory and musical expression and improvisation.

While each individual learns at a different pace, I strive to point out the progress my students have made because I find this recognition of achievement, no matter how small, is essential in a student's continued love of studying music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
lessons in dedicated music room with all instruments and equipment; upright piano, drum set and percussion.

Danilo is a really great drum teacher. Challenging, but also meets you at what ever level you're at. When limbs don't know how to rally together for a new thing, he's a very good cheerleader until it comes together or helps make it make sense to break through that wall. Enjoys good music too. Super recommend.

Theory is foundational - understand your music on a deeper level!

About Roni
Are you or your child interested in learning how to play piano? I am a former child prodigy and an experienced soloist / teacher whose talent was fostered by the highest of Russian Classical Pianist Pedigrees from a very young age. I have a lot to share. Learning the piano, isn't just about learning notes and playing them; it's about creating music, and conveying a story! I know how to teach that! And for all the moms out there- that means NOT having to listen to endless harsh ping-pang bland robotic piano practice. My goal is to create music from day 1. I have been teaching on and off since I was 18 in 1991. I formerly taught at a Yamaha School, and taught in my home on my beautiful Yamaha C7, but now being new to Texas, I will travel to you. My rates are very competitive, and I will give you a strong foundation, instill the art of
musicianship and teach you skills you can apply on your own and at your own pace. Learning an instrument should be fun and stress-free to foster a love of creating music. I enjoy teaching most, when you and/or your child are challenged in a fun and relaxed atmosphere! Please contact me if you have any questions. I am new to the San Antonio area, and am only looking to take on 5 students at the moment so I can who sure to bring my best for you. 🎶

There were several options in the valley, and you can never know if there will be that 'connection' with a new teacher.

Roni is patient and she got me! Knew exactly what I needed to learn.
I have had other teachers, and RONI B IS THE BEST!!!

Im giving her card to ALL my friends, even if they don't play piano!

Thank you Roni. Now don't get too busy so you can't work with you number one student lol!

The thought of finding a piano teacher for my young daughter and myself in this city that is filled with so much talent and musicality seemed daunting to me. I was unsure if the piano teacher I chose for my daughter would also be right for me but I felt I needed to start somewhere. I gave my daughter a Yamaha electric piano for Christmas and began the search for her piano teacher immediately.

I stumbled upon Take Lessons completely by accident as I was learning about the rigorous credentializing of the Yamaha School instructors. I knew I wanted someone that was classically trained but still had plenty of youth left to enjoy teaching children. Additionally, I have a very good friend that plays the piano beautifully and he swears it's because of the discipline he learned from his Russian "battle ax" piano teacher so many years ago. He told me if I could find someone that was Russian taught, they would be the best!!

After reading lots of profiles, I found Roni B!!! From the very first lesson for my daughter and then my subsequent lesson, I knew it was the perfect fit for not only my daughter but for me too. Roni B. not only brings her passion of the piano to life with every lesson but patience and compassion as well. She knows her job well and doesn't push me or my daughter to a place that isn't fun and nurturing. It is very important to Roni B. that we learn the piano at our own pace and the love of the journey. She also has very strong knowledge of theory as well.

I have begun to refer friends to Roni B. and I am confident in no time at all, she will be one of the most "in demand" piano teachers in Los Angeles!

Piano lessons are a joy to teach! Let me inspire you. Within the first few lessons, you'll know terminology and piano basics such as rhythm and body placement, and as time goes on you'll be able to play classics, standards and more. I typically use method books combined with traditional repertoire.

I own an extended upright Knabe on which I conduct lessons. Skype and computer hardware via tablet and laptop. Extensive music library of several hundred books and thousands of pieces or music. Printer/Scanner/Copier and high speed internet connectivity. Digital and traditional ticking metronomes. Flashcards and numerous other learning materials and aids.
Both online lessons and lessons at my location are conducted in my home living room with the piano lid open.

Doniell has been exceedingly accomodating of our schedule, making it absolutely pleasant to work with her. We are a homeschool family and she offered time outside of evening hours. We had several illnesses and issues with travel during the snow this past winter and she has always been understanding and patient with rescheduling. Learn the ins and outs and all-abouts of music theory! All types of scales, key signatures, chord construction, diatonic chords, and much, much, much more. I have a B.M. degree from Berklee College of Music and have been teaching students these ins and outs since 1982. I can help you unravel music's myriad mysteries, too!

About Stan
Hi! I am a private music instructor offering lessons both in-studio and online. I hold a Bachelor of Music Degree from Berklee College of Music, where I graduated Summa cum Laude, and I have over 36 years' full-time experience as an instructor.

I also have over four decades of experience as a professional jazz, rock, and theater musician. My experience has taken me from nightclubs to concert stages to churches, as well as television studios, radio stations, and many recording studios.

Finally, I am a published author with several titles dedicated to helping musicians becoming the best they can be.

**** MY TEACHING STYLE ****

My teaching style is often referred to as laid-back, gentle, informative, and very supportive. My focus is on enrichment, encouragement, and results.

I don't work with “one-size-fits-all” methods. Ea
ch lesson is customized to make the most of each student's own unique abilities, limitations, preferences, and interests. Whether students prefer, or do better with, traditional materials, playing/singing along with their favorite recordings, improvisation, or anything in between, I am more than happy to accommodate and bring out each student’s best!

I teach real music -- students begin playing music they love almost from day-one. For example, many of my piano and guitar students pride themselves on learning to play every song on the Beatles One album ... playing right along with the CD! Reading, playing by ear, improvisation (jamming), singing while you play ... there are so many ways to play and avenues to explore in music.

**** MY STUDIO ****

My studio is spacious (very spacious – no cubicles here!), well-appointed, and very quiet. Unlike music stores and multi-lesson facilities, there are no other lessons on the premises, no drummers going crazy on the other side of the wall. This means students can concentrate better and learn faster. There is also plenty of room for parents and siblings who may wish to sit in on lessons.

**** STYLES / GENRES ****

I believe that students make the most progress learning music they love and I am very happy to teach every student the style of music he or she loves most.

My most requested genres are: pop, rock, country, blues, classic rock, jazz, and classical. Some students arrive knowing exactly what they want, but most are happy to explore various styles that interest them in search of the perfect fit. It is not at all uncommon for a student to spend part of their lesson polishing up a Beethoven piece or jazz standard, then finish up playing the chords to “Hotel California” along with the CD. Another student might start off their lesson learning a Taylor Swift hit, then move over to doing some blues improvisation. Variety is a wonderful thing and it is highly encouraged!

**** MY STUDENTS ****

Over the years, I have taught students from four years old to eighty-somethings. I’ve taught absolute beginners (most of my students start from square-one), hobbyists, seasoned professionals, even a Grammy nominee and a Grammy winner! Many of my young students have gone on to perform in school bands / jazz bands and/or professionally. In all cases, they acquire a skill that will last for a lifetime and provide joy, enrichment, and satisfaction.

Do you have a song or two in your heart? Contact me today and I will help you reach your musical goals and have a very good time doing it!

I can help you to better understand music theory through explanations that make sense to you. Everything you want to know will be introduced to you at your own pace even if you don't have a clear idea of what theory concepts you'd like to know. I have taken quite a few theory classes including the more advanced subjects like form and analysis and counterpoint, even some composition and arrangement independent studies. Theory can seem esoteric to some and I myself even thought so at first, but through practice and experience I have learned to appreciate it. Let's learn in a way that works for you!

About Brandi
My name is Brandi and I am ready to become your guitar teacher! Playing the guitar has been my passion for 12 years and counting. I took talented music classes throughout my high school years and decided that I wanted to pursue music as a profession. I attended Southeastern Louisiana University for music performance and focused on the classical guitar as my primary instrument. I have played many gigs ranging from open mic nights, accompanying a choir, classical guitar ensembles consisting of up to 12 people, and my solo recitals. I also play the electric guitar and the ukulele, with recently expanding interests for electronic music and synthesis.

My goal since graduation has been to make teaching lessons my full time occupation. Building up a studio certainly doesn't happen overnight, so I have come here to expand my availability to t
he internet! As your instructor, I can help you to learn any and all of the things that you want to accomplish on the guitar even if you are a complete beginner. Don't wait to create - we can progress together!

No matter your level of experience, I can teach you how to use music theory in a way to actually improve your performance, composition, and/or arranging. Not everyone needs an "AP" teaching approach, but in my very first year teaching a high school AP Music Theory class we have the highest passing rate of any AP class in our school. I can help you find success with music theory too.

Whether you are a young person who wants to start composing, a high school student preparing for college, or a college music student who wants help with their classes, I can give you what you need. Just message me and let's get started.

About Eric

I have taken many theory classes in college, and my love for mathematics has helped me a lot. I can definitely help you with music theory.

About Christine
Hi! I am Christine. I am a very goal-oriented person and I believe that practice makes perfect. I am a professional pianist who is currently focusing on classical but I can play or teach any genre.

I have worked with vocalists, chamber ensembles, to a full orchestra. I started playing piano at a young age of 5, and discovered a sincere passion for this instrument. As I grew older, I grew a much deeper appreciation into the theory which has allowed me to understand music SO MUCH MORE! I would love to share my skills and knowledge with you, hoping to make you the best player you can be and develop the passion that I have developed for the piano.

My availability is very flexible and my studio is in my apartment in a very cozy setting, however, I can commute to anywhere reasonable in order to teach you. For intermediate to advanced pian
ists, a binder is required to each and every lesson.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you and I look forward to meeting and working with you.
