Playing piano is fun! So should your piano lessons.
I've taught piano since I was in high school, and continued to teach as a student at Cornell University. I also taught theory classes in the Cornell Piano Society, where I also served as President for 4 years.
Why? I simply love music, piano, and sharing it with others.
Piano is my secondary instrument and I've been teaching it for the past year. I've helped my students develop a love for the instrument as well as general music theory. I go through the different aspects of music, how to read and understand the different signs and symbols, step by step and make sure to give students enough material to practice. The book I like to use is piano adventures as well as works by Teleman, Chopin, and Mozart to start students off.
For more advanced students, typically the focus is put on performance, composition, advanced music theory and musical tones and colors. Works by Bach, Debussy and Beethoven are emphasized.
