My dance curriculum is built on teaching a strong basic step and fundamentals of rhythms in music. My main goal is to provide a safe and fun environment for students to express themselves through movement.

About Holly

I am an enthusiastic musician with a talent for teaching. I have worked as a voice and piano teacher in Seattle for eight years. I was employed at The West Side Music Academy for over three years and am currently working on a Bachelors in Music Education at Seattle Pacific University. I am a huge believer in being a lifelong student! I have continued my music education throughout my adult life and have studied Jazz, Opera, Pop, Rock, Reggae, Blues, Soul, and Folk. As a pianist I began individual instruction at age 14, and have studied Jazz with Darius Willrich, Ryan Burns, Dan Kramlich and Mark Samson. I began singing and playing piano at age 5. As a student, I take vocal and piano lessons from Holly. I look forward to our lessons each week and I love the kind of flexibility she gives me. I often find myself motivated by her lessons to practice on my own.
She has introduced a lot of new music to me this year--some music which I didn't think I liked!

Best instructor ever, indeed!
My daughter takes lesson from Holly. My daughter who cried when I would sing to her as an infant, who begged me to stop singing when she was in elementary. My daughter who would not participate in annual caroling, who early on in her academic instructions learned to mouth "watermelon" to give the impression she sings along. Now in high school, she takes lessons from Holly. My daughter enthusiastically belts out the words to songs! Holly is helping her to find her voice- musically, and in life. My daughter will now let me sing!

THANKS HOLLY!

I found Jean to be very engaging and helpful, she was always willing to explain errors to me until I was actually able to understand what I did wrong. She not only helped me address the problems I had with the SAT, but also any anxiety behind it. Now I feel calmer and more prepared to face the SAT!
