Hello, my name is Jason! I have been surrounded by music for my entire life. My father, a Berklee School of Music graduate, is an accomplished guitarist who introduced me to many forms of music as a child. At age seven he introduced me to Ringo Starr’s drum solo in “The End” by The Beatles and I knew that I wanted to learn to play percussion. Since that time, I have studied percussion theory and technique extensively with Shawn Green and Kevin Fortunato, both Berklee graduates. I studied film scoring, music theory, music history, and electronic composition at the Cambridge School of Weston under Gustavo-Assis Brasil (another Berklee graduate) and Michael Weinstein (the school’s music director and Berklee professor with an extensive list of degrees and credits). I also performed in ...

I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of rudiments and reading. I specialize in rock, funk, jazz, and world music. I use an assortment of books, mostly hand outs, and also have the following tools available to use during lessons: sound recording equipment, sheet music, and more. Let's grab some sticks and rock and roll!"
Berklee College of Music graduate, Aaron M., has been teaching students of all ages for over 12 years. "I love watching young musicians grow into seasoned players and have had tremendous success with all my students. I believe that learning songs and playing music is a critical element in the learning process of becoming a good drummer/pianist, and musician. This is why I bring a powered PA speaker, mp3 player, and (sometimes) a guitar to my lessons for the student to play along with and learn familiar songs. Over the years I've learned to strike a balance between Reading/Rudiments and Playing/having fun, so as to maintain students interests and growth." *** Lesson Details *** Music lessons in the comfort of your home! I wish to start by saying I am a proud father of two girls, currently 15 and 20 years old. I believe parenthood is an often overlooked attribute when seeking a teacher. Parents have nurtured their children since birth. I believe raising children only lends strength to a teachers ability to relate to, and understand a young student. I have always divided my life between music and the pathways of helping others. In the music field I have done so by producing, recording, performing and teaching, and in helping others, I have achieved this through managing community based treatment facilities, ER hospital crisis intervention as a psychiatric clinician and counseling. Both endeavors have been most rewarding and these disciplines have given back to me as much as I have invested in them. ...

No problem teaching special needs kids as long as they are able to sit and play for 30 minutes. I have 2 Down syndrome kids now that are an absolute joy to work with.
I am a jazz trained drummer of twelve years and use styles passed down from my teachers, including the Alan Dawson method, Bob Moses, teachings of Royal Hartigan (my own teacher) and many other techniques of my own. I was fortunate enough to travel to Ghana, Africa in Summer of 2014 to study traditional drumming and this also plays in to my philosophy. I am truly interested in an artistic approach to drumming. I want my students to express individuality and my teaching reflects this greatly.
I am a dedicated musician, who has a passion for music. I love many styles and do not limit myself, I can find good in just about any song. I am jazz-trained and versed in the styles of reggae, rock, funk, hip-hop, soul, progressive and just about anything else. I love to teach and pride myself on a very different approach that will guarantee improvement quickly and help the student find their own individual sound.
