Aaron M.

Franklin, MA

About Aaron

Berklee College of Music graduate, Aaron M., has been teaching students of all ages for over 12 years.
"I love watching young musicians grow into seasoned players and have had tremendous success with all my students. I believe that learning songs and playing music is a critical element in the learning process of becoming a good drummer/pianist, and musician. This is why I bring a powered PA speaker, mp3 player, and (sometimes) a guitar to my lessons for the student to play along with and learn familiar songs. Over the years I've learned to strike a balance between Reading/Rudiments and P
laying/having fun, so as to maintain students interests and growth."

My boys, ages 7 & 5, started piano lessons with Aaron a year ago. He has taught them technique & theory all while using songs they boys love. There are days that the boys are not the most cooperative. Aaron is amazingly patient and persistent in getting the boys to do their lessons. I really appreciate and have learned from this patience when it comes to the nightly practicing. I am pleased that the boys have been working with a male teacher and I think it really helps them relate to the music and the lessons. If you are looking for a patient yet knowledgeable piano teacher, I would definitely recommend Aaron.

In lessons, I find it important to work on tone production, technique, etudes for concentration, and a piece that the student and I pick out together. Mark is a self-taught Ableton guru. This makes him very aware of various difficulties the self-motivated newcomer may face. I had already played with Ableton on and off over the years prior to taking lessons with Mark; he is quick to recognize what I already know and focus on the gaps in my knowledge. He's also just a really nice guy who you will undoubtedly end up chatting about your favorite artists with after the lesson concludes. Give him a try if you're looking for flexibility in how you learn and when you are able to meet.
