    About Zoë M.

Zoë is a graduate of Kalamazoo College with a BA in Theatre Arts. While studying abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico, Zoë began taking salsa lessons and instantly fell in love with partner dancing- she hasn't stopped since! Zoë moved to San Francisco in 2009 to study ballroom dance full time and enroll in the Ballroom Dance Teacher’s College. At BDTC Zoë has been trained for certification in all 17 American Style dances: Rumba, Cha Cha, Bolero, East Coast Swing, Mambo, West Coast Swing, Samba, Merengue, Lindy Hop, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Night Club Two Step, Hustle, Waltz, Fox Trot, American Tango and Viennese Waltz. Following her graduation from BDTC Zoë began working at The Dance Loft in San Francisco focusing on beginning dancers and wedding couples. She also worked as a theater and dance instructor at the San Francisco parks and recreation department where she taught classes for students of all ages. At SF Rec and Park she developed a pre-ballet curriculum for students aged 3-5 that was quickly implemented at locations throughout the city and became one of the most successful and popular classes offered by the department. Zoe continues her dance education by regularly returning to her coaches and teachers in San Francisco. She also attends the DVIDA Dance Mastery Camps where she has had the opportunity to study with current and former world champion dancers including the 2015 Americas Ballroom Challenge winners Emmanuel Pierre Antoine & Liana Chirulova. Zoë is also a competitive dancer. Titles include the 2011 San Francisco Open Rhythm Scholarship Champion, 2011 April Follies Women's Rhythm Champion and 2011 April Follies Women's Smooth Champion.
