Songwriting with Zak S.

I've been a touring musician, solo performer and teacher for almost 20 years. I've taught guitar, piano, bass and drums, but currently I am focusing on songwriting. I've released several records and have had many songs licensed to film and TV. My approach to songwriting revolves around improving your knowledge of theory, melody, lyrics and creating a process that keeps you from getting stuck. We will avoid technology (no Logic lessons here). All you will need is a guitar or a piano and a voice. Maybe a notebook. The point of these lessons is to avoid the pitfalls than many beginning songwriters fall into and to find your true voice as a writer. I probably won't help you come up with the coolest beat in the world, but I will help you write better lyrics. Most of all, know that I have always loved teaching. Of everything I've done as a musician, it ranks near the top as the most rewarding.
