Hi, my name is Zak! Music is a beautiful thing. It has the so much power. It can be used to send a message, move and inspire people. Music can impact emotions, it is a beautiful and powerful thing!
Music, and teaching have always been a big passion in my life. The ability to take knowledge of a subject that you have, and show, share, and shape someone and pass on that knowledge to them. It is an amazing feeling. I am a passionate, and caring instructor. My teaching style is encouraging, motivating, and educational. I fully believe that you can do anything you set your mind to, and I use that by showing my students that I believe in them.
I use a curriculum that was taught to me, and has been used in schools and universities. This curriculum fits all age groups and skill levels. Starting with Rock, moving to Funk, ending with Jazz. When drumming playing with music, learning improvisation, and playing by ear is important. I also focus on this, having students learn their favorite songs, and learn to play with new music as well. This keeps students interested, and adds a fun personal element to their lessons. I also have implemented use of a teaching app, so while practicing if students have a question they can ask me right then so to not forget, and I can give feedback. It also has a practice tracker tool. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
I look forward to meeting you, and helping you reach your music goals!

Zaky is great with my son who has a history of brain injury which causes him to have short term memory problems. In just a few weeks he has much more confidence in himself and is even a slight bit ahead in band class. He is now able to help some of the other students which he loves. There are very few things that at school that don't overwhelm him, and Zaky has helped him find success in music.+ Read More
Great guy -- very knowledgeable and accommodating, despite technical issues with classroom
My son is enjoying drum lessons with zacky, and is already showing much improvement. I look forward to continuing these lessons
My son is 10 years old and has zero experience with music but wanted to give drumming a try. Zaky was perfect- encouraging, fun, and friendly. Zaky is a clear teacher who stealthily sneaks in terms and concepts while the kids are hands on. I'd absolutely recommend him for any age student!+ Read More
I have nothing but great things to say about Zak N., my daughter's instructor - he is SUPER with her and has given her confidence and the self-esteem she lacked before. I would refer family/friends and others to him in a heartbeat!!! He is the BEST!!!
Zak has gone so far out of his way to accommodate us. He has taken my daughter under his wing, insisting that she surpasses him in his expertise and spends 4 times the amount of time he is getting paid for, just to increase her skills and confidence. This is all while he attends two different colleges on a full-time basis!!! He is simply amazing, and incredibly talented!
