I have been playing guitar for 7 years. I previously studied music at Broward College and have pursued music independently under the private mentorship and have attended music education seminars around the country. I've had the opportunity of taking private lessons and Master classes with virtuosic musicians such as, Stanley Jordan, Mike Moreno (New School of Music, NY) Jake Cinninger, Brendan Bayliss, Ryan Stasik, Joel Cummins (Umphrey's McGee) and Devin Arne as well as the rest of the staff at Broward College. I currently play as a studio guitarist for a recording studio located in Broward. I also work as a guitarist for hire, playing mostly for many different Top 40's bands and other projects.  Aside from working steadily as a studio guitarist and performer, I also teach at Shad Music - a small private school dedicated to music located in Cooper City. Here I teach beginner piano, drums and guitar with a dedicated approach to learning not just the instrument, but music theory as well. All tailored for the age of the student and at their own pace/desire. I'm a very out going young man and have had many amazing experiences and adventures through pursuing music. I've traveled and toured the West Coast and have attended enriching music camps held in the Catskills of New York. I want to share the amazing privilege that is undertaking music with you. With hard work and dedication, your own adventure will unfold. It all starts with taking the first step towards action! *** Lesson Details *** On our first lesson, I will sit down with you and figure out just what exactly you're looking to gain through taking lessons. Different students will have different needs and I like to tailor a lesson plan together for each one accordingly. Whether you're a beginner who is just eager to get started without a sense of direction or an intermediate who wants to take their abilities to the next level. Perhaps you're interested in music just as a hobby and want to learn to play your favorite songs. I will compile a unique lesson plan for each students needs and wants. After a few months, you will start to see the fruit of your efforts unfold. I give special focus to developing proper technique, economizing your time and energy, time feel and improving your recognition of things you've already heard before ( ear training/melodic dictation). Genre's I specialize in are rock, acoustic, blues, funk and impromptu jamming. *** Studio Equipment *** Studio: teacher guitar, music stands, practice amps, additional seating for parents. *** Travel Equipment *** I expect my students to have their own instrument. I teach using either my own personalized material, one of the Hal Leonard books I teach from or a book of their choosing. In some cases more than one of the aforementioned. *** Specialties *** I give heavy attention to rhythmic awareness through a method taught to me by my music mentor, Brett Segal. Focus's on being able to visualize any possible rhythmic figure through an explicit and straight forward approach; leaving behind no guess work. I have these methods in print and use them regularly in my own private lessons. I also give heavy attention to improving technique and economizing physical energy exerted by the musician to his/her instrument; all while learning at a comfortable pace that I develop through the first few weeks of lessons with new students. Each student I have taught in the past, and currently teach, has their own personalized lesson that we discover together.
