I was about 10 years old when someone taught me my first chords on a guitar, and I fell in love. I started getting serious with it when I turned 15, and I am now (17 years later) a full-time musician at a church. When I'm not working, you can usually find me in the mountains, working on my gear, or hanging out with my wife, Claire, and my daughter, Darby.
I believe playing guitar should be FUN as well as relaxing - my best memories are of times I was playing guitar, and some of my best friends are ones with whom I've bonded through playing music. I love the idea of not just teaching technical skill, but teaching how to play as an outlet. Music can be cathartic, but it has to be taught that way!

Zachary is really great. He has made learning guitar fun & easy. He is very personable to be around and I genuinely like going to lessons. He never makes me feel guilty for not practicing. He only helps me. I can tell he loves what he does and would recommend him to anyone!!

Zach is a very talented guitarist, but not all guitarists are skilled instructors. Zach is the rare hybrid. My guitar and music theory lessons with Zach were the most effective I've had. He quickly got to know my skill level, and tailored my lessons to the things I wanted to accomplish. He made learning both music theory and guitar approachable and interesting.
Even better, he doesn't just teach you the mechanics of playing guitar. He will show you how to really put soul into your playing.
I highly recommend booking a lesson with Zach.

Zach is wonderful with my 8-year old son who is a beginner with the guitar and requires some extra time and patience when learning. Zach takes the time and asks the right questions to make the guitar lessons fun and productive for my son. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!
