About Zachary D.
Hello there! I am currently a senior in college studying nursing but also pursuing classical and Flamenco guitar during my spare time. Please do not be discouraged by me being only 22 years old; I may be young, but I am experienced. I went to a well-known performing arts high school in Florida where I helped start their classical guitar program. I was the first guitar major to graduate from the school, and the first to specialize in flamenco guitar. My job after starting the program was to assist my teacher with her new students, which was a class of over 40 high school students (all of them trying different genres of music). I still teach a couple of those students, and some of them have gone on to receive recognition and awards in music.
You do not need to be a virtuoso to play these styles of music! My goal is to have you playing from day 1! We will also focus on the material you want to learn while combining material any guitarist needs to learn. First lessons involve basic chords which will guarantee your early success on the guitar! Other topics include how to hold the guitar, strumming, fingerpicking basics, and how to produce specific sounds. If you are experienced with guitar, allow me to help with any musicality or performance issues you may have.
As a teacher, I like to make phrasing of music one of my main focuses. I want you to tell a story with all of the music you are making, even if it is just an exercise!
I hope to make your musical journey an enjoyable one that will last you a lifetime! I'm looking forward to working with you! Please let me know if you have any questions at all, whether its more about me, what other things go into my lessons, or if you want to know more about what the guitar can offer you!
"Music should reflect the poetry and emotions of life"
-Juan Martin (flamenco guitarist)
“The beauty of the guitar lies in its soft and persuasive voice and its beauty cannot be equaled by any other instrument.”
-Andres Segovia (classical guitarist)

I've learned a lot already and looking forward to future lessons with Zach

Fun first lesson w/ Zach!

Zach is an excellent teacher! very patient even with complete beginners. Class time was split between discussing technique and going over musical pieces. I only wanted to learn some basic acoustic techniques at first but ended up finding a passion for classical guitar I didn't know I had! Zach's expertise and love for the music definitely comes through.

Zach has been patient, consistent and is quite serious in his instruction. Thank you!

Amazing teacher of ukulele! He is experienced in both ukulele and guitar so his knowledge of both is really helping me learn quickly. He always gives feedback, instruction and homework. I really appreciate his style of teaching that he is patient, respectful, organized, knowledge and makes everything seem fun and easy. He has his own book for Flamenco Guitar which he sent me free of charge. Also, he responds quickly to any questions or help on days that I do not have a lesson scheduled. He goes above and beyond. If you need a skilled ukulele or guitar teacher then choose Zach today!

I took a chance with Zach and it may easily be one of the best decisions I've made in my musical journey. I have already taken several guitar classes in the past, as well as being self-taught, so I have a bit of experience with taking guitar classes. He adapts his lesson to whatever skill-level you are at, low or high, he will meet you there and teach you how to get to the next level. I learned flamenco techniques and rhythms I never thought I could do. Zach seriously set the bar high for a guitar class. It made me realize how important it is to have a teacher who genuinely cares about your progress and will go above and beyond to teach you anything you're struggling with. His patience and genuine helpful spirit were things I didn't know would be such important factors to inspire and stir up more passion for guitar. Zach is very knowledgeable, wonderfully communicative and a fantastic teacher. Highly, Highly, Recommending him.

Zach is organized and knows what he's doing. My 10year daughter enjoys her guitar lesson.

I’m so happy to have Zachary as my teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable and eager to help me learn. Zachary instantly made me feel comfortable after my first lesson. Cant wait to see the progress he helps me make!

I thought Zach was well informed, well spoken and has genuine passion for teaching.

Explained in great detail which I like. Nice dude. Easy to understand. Would recommend for others.

Zach was the best ukulele teacher we could have asked for. He personalized the lessons around my 12 year old’s progress and interests, was easily relatable and highly knowledgeable, was always accommodating if lesson times needed to be changed, communicated after all lessons about how they went and what to work on and went above and beyond giving us a digital copy of his book and offering extra help if ever needed. We highly recommend Zach!

Just had my first lesson with Zach and it was great! Zach is very knowledgeable and patient. Onward to practice.

Before the lesson Zach made sure axel was prepared and ready. Zach was very attentive and patient through the lesson and really helped my son feel confident.

Zach took the time to understand my personal musical interests and adapt my first chords to a style of music that suits me. He structured the class so we had plenty of time to go over both theory and practice. It's clear he has carefully planned his lessons. The practice he recommended feel totally achievable, and it includes a good balance between drills and music. I really appreciate the thought he's put into his classes. Despite being very structured, there is a relaxed and approachable feel to his teaching style. Thanks for an awesome first lesson, Zach!

Zach is sincere, kind, and so very knowledgeable musician! He makes my lesson fun, even when Im not as prepared as I want to be.

Zachary has the patience of Jobe

Zach is very knowledgeable , yet patient and encouraging. He is interested in questions I have concerning learning the instrument , finding excellent ways to answer them in ways I understand. I’m digging my lessons! 👍
Zach was wonderfully prepared to start me off well .
He was thorough, patient and full of easy to follow instruction.
I enjoyed my lesson!

Zachary was phenomenal! He is so knowledgeable and organized and I can’t wait for my next lesson.

Great first lesson with Zach. Looking forward to more.

Zack is an amazing instructor. He brings a vast amount of knowledge and skillsets on guitar and ukulele. He is kind and very helpful. He encourages the student to go at the pace comfortable to them and he is very committed to the goals that students set for themselves. Thank you very much Zack for being patient and teaching me the skills. I plan to come back to take his lessons again.

Great teacher. I have zero music experience & his style of teaching allows me to learn without getting overwhelmed. Highly recommend Zachary.

Very learned, dedicated and caring

I was relaxed during my first lesson with Zach because Zach is a great communicator, intelligent and knowing. I feel I've learned some new techniques which I feel good about practicing and look forward to my next session.

Zach is the perfect match for me. He's intelligent, patient and imparts not too much information so I was relaxed and learned much and already see progress from my first lesson. I made a great choice.

Great experience! Flexible, understanding, and always willing to help even outside lesson time.

Zach is amazing he's very knowledgeable and most importantly takes his time. He moves along as you progress. If you need him he's only a phone call away. Took one lesson with him and learned so much! Highly recommend for the beginner.

Zachary was an such an amazing teacher to my daughter Ashley. She has been wanting to learn how to play guitar for some time now, and I could not be happier with having picked Zachary as her first teacher! He was so informative and was very patient with her! She preformed her first solo in front of our family on Christmas and it was amazing. Such a nice young boy, and would defiantly recommend to anyone looking!

Zack is a great musician! His teaching methods are great. Its very interactive, hands-on, and fun. He has been at this for years so he knows how to get the info through to you. I have been his student for about 6 months now and i have learned so much. I performed for my family and it was an amazing experience! I would definetly recommend.

Zach is an amazing guy. His young age inspired my son (8 years old), and he relates more to his younger students being closer in age to them. He explains everything in great detail that's easy to understand, and has a genuine love of music. He will have you playing from your very first lesson!
