About Zach P.
Zach is a recent graduate of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where he studied Jazz Guitar Performance and Composition. Over the past few years, he has performed extensively as a multi-instrumentalist, both in the Chicagoland area and on the east coast. Zach composes and performs for many musical genres ranging from jazz (big band arrangements for college and high school ensembles) to rock, pop, R&B, folk, and musical theater, allowing his knowledge of theory and tradition in one genre to reinforce his ideas in another in constructive ways. He is also an amateur producer with experience in DAWs such as Ableton Live. Zach has taken on many private students, typically but not always younger. His educational framework begins with establishing a certain comfort level with one’s instrument, and evolves into a deep study of the musical traditions surrounding the student’s area of interest, enabling the student to fully blossom as an artistic thinker.
