Music is my joy, and I am dedicated to sharing that joy with each of my students! My goal as a teacher is to focus my education on the goals and aspirations of each student I work with. I focus on rounding a student's education, covering performance, composition, ear training, and music theory. I've taught students aging from 6 to their mid-40's, with interests ranging from classical, jazz, pop, and film music.

Zach Heyde (b. 1993) is an American composer, pianist, & educator based in Tennessee.  Heyde entered The Hartt School of Music in 2011, studying composition & jazz piano. During his time in college and following graduation, Heyde served actively as a music educator in his hometown of Darien, CT. He recently completed teaching through the Darien Arts Center & Crescendo Music before moving to Tennessee, and continues his love of music education by offering private piano & composition lessons.

Zach was a very personal and knowledgeable teacher. He was always prepared and ready to work on whatever I needed. He helped me with my ear training skills as well as general music theory and applications. He's engaging and fun; I highly recommend him.

Zach taught both my 7 yr old son and my 11 yr old daughter piano. They both had other instructors previously and were losing steam/interest. Zach really reignited their interest in learning piano. They both performed beautifully at the piano recital here in town. We were REALLY sad to see him leave.

Zach taught my 7 yo daughter piano and we were so sad he moved from our area!! My daughter had never touched a piano before, and within minutes, he engaged her and she was so excited to be learning! Zach has an infectious enthusiasm for all music and, coming from a family of educators, understands how to change things up if one strategy isn't working for a child. Zach is a gifted, talented musician and an awesome human. Hire him!

Zach has worked for me for a little over a year teaching piano lessons in my music school before he left for Nashville. He has always been courteous, professional and truly has a love for teaching and sharing his gift of music. Do yourself or your child a favor and don't miss an opportunity to take lessons from this very talented young man.

Zach taught piano to two of my children, ages 12 and 9.  The enthusiasm that he brought to their lessons inspired them to try new things and become more passionate about music  and learning piano.  He was patient, intuitive and above all, knowledgable and fun.  He also taught my youngest beginner guitar.  She always ended her lesson excited about what she had learned with him. I highly recommend Zach for lessons and musical composition work.

Zach began teaching my daughter during her senior year of high school, with a busy schedule she had to switch days and therefore teachers. It was at a crucial time when she was making college decisions and considering a music major. Zachary was a great teacher not just increasing her skill level but he encouraged her in her music selections, guided her in her decision making and he arranged a wonderful orchestra accompaniment to her senior piano performance piece for her final concert. We were sad to see him go but wish him well and highly recommend him as an instructor.

Zach is a wonderful teacher! My son thrived under Zach'a guidance.
