    About Yasmin P.

I am the middle child of 3, the first person in my family to go to college and the only one in my family who knows English. I was born in Mexico, and I can proudly say that I am a naturalized US citizen. As a woman born to a very poor Mexican family in a small town of Mexico, I was told that it was not important to pursue higher education, but here I am today, pursuing a college degree and dreaming about becoming a US Senator. I love science, research, helping others to obtain a better quality of life, and putting knowledge in the service of others. Moreover, I would like to inspire minorities and future generations to fight for their dreams despite the obstacles and disadvantages that they might face along the way and be part of the difference that we want to see in the world.
