    About Wu J.

    Violinist Wu Jie has garnered unprecedented international success as both a chamber and solo musician. She was  the founding member of the Escher String Quartet and played with that ensemble from 2005 to 2012. Wu Jie performed all over the world for many years and collaborated with many esteemed artists such as Jason Vieaux, David Shifrin, Leon Fleisher, Anne-Marie McDermott, Wu Han, Paul Neubauer, David Finckel, Larry Dutton and Pinchas Zukerman. While in the Escher String Quartet, Wu Jie recorded the Zemlinsky quartet cycle with Naxos. She also served on the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists scheme from 2010 until 2012. Prior to that, she was in the Chamber Music Society Two Program at Lincoln Center from 2006 to 2009. From 2013 to 2016, Wu Jie taught many violin and viola students at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege who are now in prestigious schools such as Curtis Institute of Music, Yale University and Cleveland Institute of Music. Wu Jie’s teachers include Pinchas Zukerman, Patinka Kopec, Eleonora Turovsky, Lei Fang and Robert Mann.
