    About William L.

To be quite honest, I have done a little bit of everything. While working my way through school, I have worked in the service industry. I have worked at an engineering group. I have worked as a theater manager. I have even worked as an actor. I list a few of these out because I believe diversity is important. Figuring out who you are and what you like is important. I believe connecting and building trust makes it easier feeling comfortable with asking questions. I have always enjoyed math. Weird right? Can't help it though. I enjoy it so much I decided to get a Minor in it. I have studied multiple principles of math as it is applied to Aerospace engineering including orbital mechanics and the physical natures of flight. In more of a pure form, I have studied up to Calc IV, Linear Algebra, Number Theory, Differential Equations (if I keep going they sound increasingly more made up). My passion for teaching and helping others in general are the two of the main factors in what's driving my change in career focus from engineering to education. I enjoy engineering don't get me wrong, but it's just not as rewarding. I have always enjoyed teaching. Throughout middle school and college, I tutored whenever I could in whatever I could. Even despite being a math guy, I enjoyed helping decipher Dante's Inferno (Divine Commedia) and also navigating through modern and classical physics. I could keep going, but the gist of what I am getting at is that I have experienced a lot and I believe that helps me communicate. I find it easy to talk to others and I think that is one of my stronger assets. I like to laugh, make jokes. I can't promise I can make math fun, but I will settle for at least slightly less painful.
