I'm a touring/ gigging/ recording artist in Los Angeles. I graduated from Los Angeles College of Music with a bachelors degree in Bass Performance.
Bass is an instrument that can be easy to pick up but incredibly hard to put down. It is also incredibly hard to master... However, I'm here to help!! Week by week it's my job to make my students feel more relaxed and comfortable with the instrument. Nothing inspires me more than watching my students improve.
I grew up playing the piano from a young age. I switched over to the bass when I turned 14 and I haven't looked back. I've studied Jazz and Classical Upright bass as well as many more contemporary styles involving the Electric and Key basses.
I am more than capable to teach brand new students the very fundamentals of music while coaching them to some of the more advanced concepts of improvisation and emoting.
The most important thing I would like to emphasize is that music is fun and while learning can be a drag at the end of the day your journey through this growth and development should be FUN!!
I have been a self-employed Musician in LA for about 4 years. I play for several local bands. Rock/ Pop music mostly and then a few jazz ensembles.
This calls for me to learn and memorize music but also shows. After all, musicians are performers. I also record music for different singer-songwriter types.
I help tutor and lead the Rhythm section for the Elko High School Jazz Ensemble.
The Elko High School Jazz Ensemble plays a yearly show called Emil Matty's Jazz Fest where professional musicians such as Eric Marienthal, Karen Greene, and Andy Martin sit in with the band.
It is my responsibility to rehearse the rhythm section and make sure the students have a clear understanding of the music. I help teach essential styles and the concept of groove/ feel. I also try and inspire the students to play their best and show them that music can be fun.
I was the Musical Director for an Indonesian artist named Neonomora when she played for MusExpo 2017.
My responsibilities were to:
Write and arrange the charts.
Organize everyone involved
