    Welcome to my profile! My name is William Beck. Most people call me Billy. I have been teaching mainly guitar and songwriting here and there for over 11 years. I started playing guitar at age eleven. I began writing my own songs at age thirteen and haven't stopped since. I am an artist above all things, and meditate frequently for continuous inspiration and insight. I graduated high school in 2005, now I am a full time student at SPC. I am going for my A.S. in Music Industry Recording Arts degree. It has been said a good teacher will remain a student. With me you will learn at a pace that is comfortable for you, yet challenging and encouraging. I would like you to have a pleasant experience, which is why patience, tolerance, and communication are very important to me. To sum it up I am an artist, musician, writer, student, and teacher, eager to learn more, and inspired to pass it on. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.     Just had my first lesson with Billy and it was fantastic! He created the perfect balance of learning something enjoyable that I would be excited to go home and practice along with things that I had skipped over and knew I needed to re-visit in order to improve. I was impressed with his ability to quickly gauge my skill level and prior music knowledge so it didn’t feel mundane but challenged me just the perfect amount. Excited for our next lesson already!

    Billy helped me understand what i wanted out of music and tailored the lesson to do just that...started w the basics but then let me direct whete i wanted to take my playing...easy going and made it so much fun....i would recommend him to anyone at the beginner/intermediate level, as he is adept at getting to know who u are as a player and goes at the appropriate pace....great teacher!
