    About Will R.

Hey there! I have been playing music for 14 years, and have been teaching for 5 of those years. During this time I was a dedicated classical musician, performing in multiple orchestras and chamber ensembles, and going on to get a degree in Music Performance and Jazz at the University of Georgia. On top of that, I pursued my interest in a variety of other genres, including bluegrass, jazz, rock, folk, Irish, and many others. Through these avenues I have done countless studio sessions, performed in music festivals for thousands of people, and made a successful career by playing in a variety of bands. on top of that, I am also accomplished composer and arranger, with many of my works being performed by my own and local ensembles. I believe all students should pursue every possible facet of their musical interest and creativity, and have fun doing so! By establishing a basis in technique, ear training, and music theory, we can explore our instruments and favorite styles to the highest of our ability, and learn a deeper appreciation and love for all things music.

Will is great with our 8 year old son. He always checks in with him about his week and asks if he has any questions before he moves on. He is always on time for the lessons and is very engaging even though we are taking lessons online. We highly recommend Will and hope to keep him as a teacher for our son!

Will was excellent! My 13-year old thoroughly enjoyed his lesson. Will was prepared and spoke in a way that was easy for my son to understand. He uses many different techniques and a multi-faceted approach to teaching so that he can develop a well-rounded musician. My son can't wait to have his next lesson with Will!

Will is AWESOME. So patient, encouraging, and keeps me engaged. I so look forward to our sessions. Before starting lessons with Will I had never picked up an instrument before. I was so nervous to get started and had little confidence that I'd be able to learn. Will completely shattered that illusion and reminded me how good it feels to try something new!
