I have two years of experience teaching private drum lessons and 15 years of playing the drum set myself. Through teaching and taking lessons myself, I believe the best way to learn is to develop a curriculum and stick to it! Every student is different in the amount of time they are able to practice and the goals they wish to accomplish, so I develop curricula tailored to each individual and you will have a practice log to help you track your progress. I am patient and understand that learning new things can be a challenge, but have no fear! We will work together on your journey to reaching your goals! I can teach rock, pop, funk, hip hop/rap, latin, jazz, and many more genres. I believe it is important for you to also learn how to read a drum chart, so learning to read music will be a must if you take lessons with me. By learning to read, you and I can transcribe your favorite drum solos and grooves which will expand your drumming vocabulary! Listening to the masters who laid it all out for us is one great way to learn and expand your horizons, so listening will be a huge part of your learning process as well!
