Hello, my name is Vanessa. I am a certified reading specialist and special education teacher. I have been teaching and tutoring for over 10 years. I have experience working with children of all ability levels including students with Specific Learning and Reading Disabilities, Down Syndrome, Autism, and Dyslexia. I specialize in utilizing the Barton Reading and Spelling Program (an Orton Gillingham based multi-sensory approach to teaching reading and spelling) and the Edmark Reading Program (a sight word based approach to teaching reading and reading comprehension). I create lessons that are designed to specifically address the needs of the individual student.
