Learn the tools and techniques of songwriting. Share your songs with the world!

Everyone's a Poet/Singer/Songwriter at heart! We all have songs and melodies and poetic fancies that have been sleeping inside of us (sometimes for years), and we long to bring them out, but somehow lack the tools, and, most importantly, the encouragement to share our creative treasure trove with others, and, even for our own self-satisfaction. As an award winning and published poet, I'll help you begin to express your thoughts, emotions, and stories in your own songs, and in your own unique style that will bring your message to the world! No time like the present to start!

Become the masterful Singer that you really ARE! Learn to bring out the natural beauty and power of your Voice, and to match your own unique personality and vocal qualities to complementing repertoire in order to show your voice and talents in their best light. We'll develop the repertoire that fits YOU. You'll learn how the Voice works and where it really comes from, and probably be amazed at the almost immediate widening of your vocal range. Trained by one of the Metropolitan Opera'€™s most beloved Voice Coaches, Vanessa brings to the world of music a wonderfully varied Performing and Teaching career ranging from Opera to Broadway. She holds a BA degree in Music Performance from the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Boston University, and is an award winning Poet. Vanessa has produced, hosted, sung, and broadcast over 2,500 television programs, concertized and spoken in the US and abroad, recorded nine albums in various languages, co-authored an Early Childhood Education book which included training in the use of music for the young, authored three autobiographical "Poetry with a Purpose" poetry books and accompanying cd's offered to inspire thought and creativity in others, and teaches Voice to her private and group students. *** Lesson Details *** The atmosphere is relaxed in our comfortable professional studio. We work hard, and enjoy the journey as we develop your voice and repertoire with a focus on whatever style of singing you choose. It won't be long until you will see that songs that were previously too high or too low are now comfortably within your grasp. And, you will be able to sing for longer periods of time without getting tired or injuring your voice. You might also want the experience of practicing stage presence, working with trax, learning how to relate to an audience, and learning microphone technique, all of which will add to the professionalism of your most excellent and enjoyable career. *** Studio Equipment *** Music studio room w/ piano and seating for parents *** Specialties *** I specialize in finding the student's unique voice, and helping them to understand its natural operation in order to set it free to be used in any style they choose to sing. The Italian Bel Canto method describes the basic singing technique, and is the foundation from which a healthy and versatile voice can be developed.

While she did teach some useful technique, more than half the time was spent rambling about bizarre conspiracy theories.

    Experience

    Voice Coach

    Jan, 1978 - Present

    Voice Coach

Music, and especially Singing, has been the love of Vanessa's life from the very beginning, when she sang songs before she even talked! Ever since then she has sung, created music with everything that she could get her hands on, performed, studied, written, recorded, televised, taught, and earnestly sought after the Secrets of Sound and how it affects everything in and around us. Trained by one of the Metropolitan Opera’s most beloved Voice Coaches, Vanessa brings to the world of music a wonderfully varied Performing and Teaching career ranging from Opera to Broadway. She is an award winning Poet, and holds a BA degree in Music Performance from the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Boston University. Vanessa has produced, hosted, sung, and broadcast in her two long-running series over 4,000 television programs, concertized and spoken in the US and abroad, recorded nine albums in various languages, co-authored "For The Love Of Children", a Guidebook for Early Childhood Education, is the author of "Kaleidoscope: Life's Meaningful Reflections”, the three volume series of prose, songs, and poetry books and their accompanying cd's and DVD's, (available on Amazon), has published the first two books and cd's in a series of Voice Training lessons designed to enable each person to fully develop and release the power, freedom, and beauty of their own unique voice, and, she teaches Voice to private students, groups, and in Seminars and Workshops. All this experience has been enhanced by years of research and current lectures in the field of sound, and the science/spiritual truths behind its uses, not only for our enjoyment, but also for its powerful influences in our personal and professional lives, and in the formation of our culture.
