Are you looking to exceed your own wildest expectations of yourself? Curious about singing better? Ever considered voice lessons? Have you ever wanted to feel more confident with your sound? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, it's time to explore this new opportunity! As a teacher, I lead my lessons with a gentle approach, whether you are a beginner or advanced musician. I am a recent graduate of Azusa Pacific University and earned my Bachelor's in Music: Vocal Performance. With a fresh mind & pursuing my Master's degree, I can teach with confidence. It will always be at your own pace and at your own time. I'm always listening to those I teach in the most positive of lights, but still maintaining a discerning eye over the music you will create. Hiring me as a teacher, I will be working to the best of my ability to display and exemplify what I believe it means to be a good musician. I'm passionate about what I do, and I want to show you exactly why.

About Vanessa G.

Singing has always been my passion. The human voice is so complex that I was entranced with it at a very young age. Due to my exposure to Disney movies and Disney Channel, I began singing at 5 years old and would be involved in my school's talent shows! Once middle school began, I joined the chorus. Ever since the 7th grade, not one year has gone by where I haven't been in a choir. I continued my music education into my college years where I graduated with my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, by far one of my proudest accomplishments so far. Following my last year of college, I opened up my voice studio. There is an intangible feeling when teaching the voice, but a phenomenon that I believe to be mutual with those I teach. There are so many aspects of vocal pedagogy and performance practice that I look forward to sharing with you. Performing and teaching are my greatest passions in life, and I can't believe that I am lucky enough to be doing this for the rest of my life!

Vanessa was my daughter’s first singing coach ever (age 9) so she was naturally shy at first, but Vanessa made her feel comfortable, confident and was very patient with her. Very happy with the time my daughter had with her coach! She is now more confident and knows more about music and her own voice!

“Great singer and teacher! She was so much fun :)”

I always wanted to learn to sing, but I'm pretty shy when singing in front of people. However, I've been gaining more confidence with Vanessa's singing lessons! She has been teaching me different methods and practices I can use to improve my pitch. I already hear a significant difference in my voice. She's also very encouraging when teaching. Even though we can't meet in person, I can feel her enthusiasm through the screen. I highly recommend taking lessons from Vanessa if you're looking for fun singing lessons!

Experience

Voice Teacher
Aug 2019 - Present

Home Studio

During the summer of my last year of college, I decided to begin advertising my new voice studio. Since then, I have had many students who ask for help in how to sing properly and with healthy technique. I take each lesson at the students' individual pace. I communicate constantly with my students and manage the time very well.

Church Choir Section Leader and Soloist
Sep 2018 - Present

La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church

Since my third year of college, I have led the sopranos in all church services and Thursday night rehearsals. On top of that, I manage choir meetings, conduct the ensemble when the choral director is not present, lead in warm-ups, and perform solos once a month.

Disneyland Performer
Jun 2017 - Present

Walt Disney Company

During most days of the week, I am able to provide spectacular entertainment for families around the world. This job allows me to improvise and communicate effectively. Whenever possible, I am my own leader. The most important element of my job is making children believe that magic is certainly real!
