Hi, I'm Val! I am a graduate of Westminster Choir College with a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance. I love singing both solo and choral music, as well as ringing handbells. My favorite composers are Mozart, Schubert, Bernstein, and Barber. My teaching begins with the fundamentals of healthy, relaxed technique (which are useful in any genre). By learning bel canto style, my students increase their range, discover fuller and more colorful tone, learn to breath and use their air efficiently, and will be able to use their artistry to honestly and powerfully express the message of the songs they perform. We can also work on musicianship skills (ear training, sight singing, pitch memory, etc) which are transferable and useful for whatever instrument you study. LGBTQ+ friendly
