Graduate of Mesa State College with a BA in music performance....classical & jazz guitar & vocal emphasis. Teaching private, group and ensemble music through the Valenci A. Music Studio since 1990. *** Lesson Details *** Private instruction is focused on the individual's preference for style of music. Theory and technique for chosen instrument(s) are covered and creating your own music is encouraged through writing, performing and recording. Ensembles are created to give students the experience of performing larger works of music, part reading and solo work with accompaniment. *** Studio Equipment *** The Valenci A. Music Studio consists of two instruction rooms. #1 is the piano and voice studio....also a computer for music writing program and recording. #2 is the guitar & bass studio....also used for group and ensembles. This room is equipped with a bass, electric guitar and acoustic amplifiers. *** Travel Equipment *** Students must have their own instrument in the lesson and at home. The piano and amplifiers are available in lessons. *** Specialties *** Each lesson is tailored to each individual student's desires and goals. From this I create a program for that student.

Great with kids My husband and I drove the extra 45 minutes once a week to make sure our children could have the best guitar lessons possible. We LOVED our experience with Valenci. Very knowledgeable and skilled, Valenci was able to answer any questions we had. She is great with children, patient and understanding when they don't understand the material. Our two oldest children, 12 and 9 years old loved that they felt comfortable and at home, making for a more suitable playing and learning environment. HIGHLY recommend Valenci for lessons of any type!

Taught kindergarten and 4th grade required grade level music. Included: singing, playing rhythm instruments, recorders, and movement to music. Performed bi-annual and Christmas Programs for the school and parents. Also taught music creativity, movement and singing to the special needs class....ages 5-9.
