Dr. Tzu-Hwa Ho began playing the piano at the age of four. At fourteen, she made her concerto debut in the City Hall of Salerno, Italy, and at sixteen, she gave her first solo recital in Taipei (Taiwan). During the junior year in college, she moved from Taiwan to the United States as one of only two exchange students selected to the United States from the National Taiwan Normal University. She studied piano with, chronologically, Alexander Sung, Alla Voskoboynikova, Alan Chow, and Jack Winerock; collboartive piano with Elizabeth Buccheri and Alan Darling. She has performed in international festivals such as Festival Pablo Casals (France), Conservatoire Américain de Fontainebleau (France), the Dartington International Summer Music School (England), and the International Piano Seminar in Obidos (Portugal). At these festivals, she had the opportunity to study with highly sought after piano pedagogues and concert pianists such as Philippe Bianconi, Jay Gottlieb, Philippe Entremont, Boris Berman, and Luiz de Moura Castro.
Dr. Ho currently resides in Bethlehem. Prior to moving to Bethlehem she lived in Philadelphia, where she was a faculty member for Settlement Music School, the rehearsal pianist and staff accompanist for Gleeksman-Kohn Children’s Choir and Thomas Jefferson University Choir.
Dr. Ho is a recipient of Presser Foundation Scholarship. She has Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from University of Missouri in St. Louis, Master of Music in Piano Performance from Northwestern University, and Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from University of Kansas.
