My love of the game started very early in life. I played on my first organized basketball team when I was 5 years old. I played in either park leagues, for my school, or for the Reebok Slam n Jam league until I was 24 years old. My aspirations for any type of pro career (NBA or overseas) was cut short because of a knee injury suffered, oddly enough, at work, not on the court. However, my love and passion for the game never dwindled but instead grew, as I eventually got involved with one on one tutoring and coaching. I am now 45 years old and I recently received my AA Degree in Kinesiology. I also coach girls varsity basketball in Los Angeles, CA. Last season, my first, our team had the highest victory total that they have had in over 10 years. We also had our best ever finish in league and hosted a CIF play-off game for the first time in school history. I know a lot about the game and teach with the love, respect and passion that I feel for the game. In short, I teach basketball because I know it and I teach it the right way. I will break down every aspect of the game into basic simple skill building drills, that can be worked on anytime. As these basic skills progress, we will reconstruct them and we will learn to incorporate these skills into our overall game. My focus will not only be on offense. I will teach proper defensive stance, rotations, hands and feet positions, and proper slide technique. The lost art of the mid range game (15 ft) will be resurrected, as well as many other basic skills that I see lacking at every level, including the NBA. Just remember, To truly know the game is to respect the game; to truly respect the game is to love the game; to truly love the game is to know the game. And the only way you can do that is by learning the game the right way. No one is born spinning a basketball on his/her finger. It is through hard work and dedication that greatness is born. I will give you the skills, but the dedication and hard work must come from you. "Don't practice until you get it right, practice until you can't get it wrong."

Coach Burnett is an excellent coach. Not only did my son get better at basketball, but we use Coach Burnett's meditation technique for school also. As a result, my son's grades are up.
