My name is Tyler. I have taken lessons on six different instruments with piano being the primary at ten years of lessons. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Theory/Composition from Southwest Minnesota State University and moved to the Phoenix area in January of 2016. I teach at a music school five days a week and am looking to fill out my schedule with in-home private lessons. I also teach music at a preschool one morning a week. I've taught, tutored, and mentored students of various levels of skill and I very much enjoy teaching. I strongly believe in developing a student's love for music by allowing them to have a say in what they learn. I believe exposure is one of the best ways to develop a student's taste for music. The appreciation for many genres can open up doorways that would otherwise be inaccessible. I won't let a student choose the entirety of their curriculum, rather I'll work with them to develop a curriculum that is interesting to them, but also educational. I am definitely available to travel farther, as long as you're not in Chandler. Due to an agreement with the school I teach at, I can not accept students from Chandler.+ Read More
I taught piano and guitar, sometimes organized recitals, and recommended and sold merchandise.
Tyler was so good with my very active 4 year old, and I look forward to continuing to work with him!
I had so many questions, and sometimes the same question. He was very patient with me, and very kind. You can tell he loves what he does and he loves music. I'm excited to keep learning.
Great teacher. Always communicates schedule and my kids love him already.
Great teacher. Really nice guy
My kids are both enjoying learning piano with Tyler! He is very good with them, and they are progressing nicely. I can tell that music is Tyler's passion and he loves teaching!
