Hey everyone! I hope everyone is doing well during this time of isolation and social distancing.

My name is Tyler Lockett, and I'm a professional illustrator with over 15 years of experience in design, illustration, and concept art for video games. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in illustration from Parsons School of Design in New York City.

I have done conceptual art for high profile game titles such as "Neverwinter Nights", "American Mcgee's Grimm!", and I was a senior concept artist on "Alice; Madness Returns." for Xbox360. I'm currently hard at work on my first Illustrated novel, which will have over 200 illustrations, and will be available at the end of the year.

My lessons are completely flexible, and adaptable to your personal goals. However, here are my recommendations.

For BEGINNERS I recommend building up your foundation skills; shapes, silhouettes, values, composition, lighting, color, line work, texture, etc. We could pick subject matter that you enjoy, and I will help you produce images that strengthen these foundation skills.

For INTERMEDIATE or ADVANCED students, we pick a short story or novel, choose characters, sets, or action set pieces to illustrate. We would still be evaluating your foundation skills as you design, but we are focusing on higher level elements such as character design; silhouettes, costume design, set design, lighting, color theory, etc. SO this would be much more involved process from thumbnails to final images.

About tyler L.

I love to teach. Its in my blood. When i was growing up, My father was a University professor teaching humanities and literature at University of Houston. I've been teaching English for the last 7 years as I've been traveling the world (15 countries) as i do freelance illustration work and focus on my book.

I love working with students! I'm a very supportive and positive teacher who can offer a lot of knowledge and experience to help you achieve your specific goals with your artwork.
