I can only hope that I can help inspire a student to read just half of a book per day.I know that reading betters a person in so many ways, and knowledge is just one of those ways.
I like to try to help students enjoy reading. A significant part of reading is understanding the structure of a story, pinpointing important points, like the climax and even predicting what may or may not happen in the story!
During my time with the 4th grade class, I would have small groups of students work with me to "popcorn" read, passing along the job of reading aloud and then I would have them discuss together about what happened, what the current scene is, and what they predict will happen in the future of the story.

My name is Tyler E., and I've always had a love for teaching!
When I was a child going through elementary school, I had a teacher in 4th grade who inspired me to get involved when I was older and help educate kids of all ages! I trained in ATA Taekwondo for years, even instructing students from brand new white belts, to veteran black belts! I spent part of a year as an intern, teaching students in elementary school. Guess what? It was a 4th grade classroom! The teacher I was working under reminded me so much of the teacher that I had when I was in 4th grade. The students looked up to him, and I always had hoped that the students looked at me the same way.
I went through a couple years of community college, then transferred to an elite aviation school where I'll become a Flight Instructor, teaching students how to fly.
I taught Taekwondo classes to students of all ages and of all belt ranks. Curriculum included teaching technique, sparring, weaponry and more. Also specifically focused in "Tiny Tiger" classes, with students between 4 and 7 years of age, learned the basics of Taekwondo, and other important concepts that will be a foundation for the students' future.+ Read More
