Trevor is available for hire involving live performances, studio projects, and private instruction. *** Lesson Details *** My first emphasis is on tone, sound projection, and pitch control. If you don't have a good sound and good presence, everything else is insignificant. After that is established, technique exercises are implemented in any and all styles that the student wishes to pursue. I prefer classical and jazz exercises for the saxophone. I expect my students to practice every day and "re-teach" themselves the knowledge and advice they receive from me. The REAL learning happens when you are all by yourself, realizing your mistakes and fixing them from within. I will show you how to go about doing this, but the student must be able to execute their goals on their own during the practice week. I am strict because I expect a lot out of my students. I also like to have fun! Don't forget that it is YOUR lesson. Whatever songs you want to learn, or if you want to sound like players you admire, let's go for it! Anything is possible! *** Studio Equipment *** Instruments: Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Soprano Sax, Flute, Clarinet, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, and Keyboard. Also have two chairs, Music Stand, Instrument stands (2 Guitars, Keyboard, 3 Saxes, Flute and Clarinet.) Books and sheet music, Stereo Speakers, and audio library. *** Travel Equipment *** I bring my instruments (Tenor, Alto, Soprano saxes, Bb Clarinet, guitar) I can also bring a music stand, sax stand, tuner, metronome, and all books. I highly recommend that the student owns all of these items just mentioned. *** Specialties *** I teach jazz, classical, funk, pop, rock, blues, and r&b styles on saxophones. On clarinet I teach classical and Jazz. I also teach electric and acoustic guitar. Styles for guitar include rock and roll, blues, rhythm and blues, and pop. I also teach vocal techniques, help with songwriting, and the full spectrum of music theory and improvisation.
