Classical Piano with Trevor S.

I am a professional keyboardist with over 25 years’ experience, with training from both Berklee College of Music and Musician’s Institute. Living, playing and teaching professionally in Los Angeles for 10+ years, I have had the privilege of traveling all over the world performing with artists of many different genres, playing everything from intimate jazz clubs to arena pop shows in front of tens of thousands. Currently, I am the touring organ player for the world-renowned punk rock band Social Distortion and am an endorsed Hammond artist. I am also the founder/keyboardist of a well-known instrumental funk trio, and have released two albums and toured across the U.S. as an original artist. Working with symphonies across the country such as the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Anchorage Symphony, and many others while backing up special guest singers such as John Elefante of Kansas and Mickey Thomas of Jefferson Starship. I have also made several TV appearances as a guest performer on shows such as Glee and NCIS. I teach lessons both online and in-person out of my home in Santa Monica. I own a wide array of instruments including a piano, a Hammond B3, a Rhodes Mark II Suitcase, a Hohner D6 Clavinet and a Moog Little Phatty, so we can focus on techniques that apply to any or all of those classic keyboards. I work with students of all ages and skill levels with a variety of musical goals. I regularly play and teach in styles including rock, pop, blues, R&B, jazz, funk and classical. Having a deep background in classical piano, I competed nationally in the US Open Music Competition throughout my childhood and won multiple medals (including some gold). In addition to topics specific to the piano, I also teach synth programming/digital music creation, patch creation, MIDI programming, recording techniques, vocal coaching, performance coaching, songwriting, and composition.
