Hello! Some quick pedigree-type qualifications: I am currently completing my Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA) at USC's Thornton School of Music and graduated with my Master's from Indiana University. I also hold a BA in psychology along with a BM in piano performance from Oberlin College and Conservatory. On to thoughts about music: I emphasize the importance of a well-rounded musician and have integrated my own performance career with experience in music business, education, and non-profit advocacy/outreach. My approach to teaching follows much of this same philosophy. I draw from the classical tradition for technique, posture, and general musicianship but lessons are also a partnership where students may choose additional aspects of what they are most interested in, whether that be songwriting, mixed media, composition, etc. Music (and the skills that learning an instrument gives you) touch almost every part of the human experience and my goal is to help you discover the unique ways this applies to your story. I am also a firm believer in cultivating something tangible beyond just our lessons so that your music can continue to be shared and loved. As such, my studio offers professional recordings/videos of each finished piece at no additional cost so that you can start your own artistic digital portfolio; a great way to learn from yourself and see how far you have progressed.

I'm an adult, beginner-level student and I learned from her for about 10 months. She helped me develop a great foundation and love for classical music. I would have kept seeing her if she wasn't moving a little too far away from my place. Highly recommend her.

I started taking lessons with Tracy a few months ago after many years of playing with bad habits and technique, and I've been making big improvements from day one. She's incredibly patient and fun, and I'm certain she is a great instructor for children as well. I cannot recommend Tracy highly enough.

My 7 years old daughter has developed a passion for playing Piano since she started learning with Ms Tracy Wong. Tracy is very energetic, talented and wonderful teacher. You will not regret to take her lessons.
