I have two decades of experience teaching English literature, writing, creative writing, and test prep to 9-12 grade students. I strive to build a rapport with each student and do my best to understand them as a person. This helps me to be able to reach each student at their own unique level of learning and instruct them in a unique way. I am FAR from a boring teacher. While our focus will always be on the lesson, we will have fun and laugh along the way. I try to make my lessons presented through technology as often as possible, but nothing beats good old fashioned pen to paper when it comes to essay writing. I look forward to having the opportunity to give you the skills necessary to become an independent learner who will only need my services for a limited amount of time.

About Tracy S.

I am have been teaching high school English literature, writing, creative writing, and test prep for over two decades. While I plan to remain an educator
in various ways, such as through this tutoring opportunity, I am venturing out of the classroom at the end of the school year to pursue my dream of becoming a professional writer.

In the time I spent in the classroom, I was always "the favorite" teacher on campus. My willingness to get to know each student individually and learn about their interests and personalities coupled with my crazy sense of humor make my lessons not only educational but enjoyable.

My guarantee to you is that I will learn your individual learning style and modify my lessons so that you are able to learn the content presented, Not only will you learn the information long enough to complete the necessary assignments or take the appropriate exams, you will actually RETAIN the things I teach you. I also promise to you that I will do everything in my power to give you the skills needed to become a confident, independent learner who will only be in need of my services for a short time. I will give you the skills necessary to be able to spread your wings and fly on your own as you continue your educational journey.

Mesquite Education Association

The Mesquite Education Association began in 1958 when it formed under the name Mesquite Teachers Association. Dr. Ralph H. Poteet, who later became the Superintendent of Schools, served as the organization's second president during the 1960-61 school year. The name was changed to Mesquite Education Association in 1970. Through membership in MEA, employees have a voice concerning professional practices. They are also encouraged to participate actively in civic affairs. MEA members are represented by a body able to speak with authority for them in communicating with other Mesquite ISD entities as well as the community which they serve. MEA membership benefits include collaboration, professionalism, scholarships, discounts, life insurance, and other continually improving benefits.
